Mr. Chap - from the life of a clown [TOP100]
Janusz Russek has been using the stage name Mr.Chap for many years. In 2024-25,he will be engaged by the largest Czech circus, Humberto. The photographs capture the clown in a way that the audience cannot see him. Preparations behind the scenes, life in his small caravan, the joys and worries of everyday life, when there is often no smile on his face. In the circus, the audience must not know that he is suffering from, for example, health, separation from family and many other everyday problems. In the circus, he always has to entertain people and sometimes it costs him a lot of energy.

Walls Speak [TOP100]
During past 10 years, I have been photographing in streets of Iran, specially Tehran (Capital) and Karaj ( a city near capital). In recent years authorities have special attention in making cities more attractive for local dwellers and turists. Painting the surrounding walls all across the town is one of a kind, Although some argue that building walls and specificlly seperating and owning stray lands or those which do not have owners by speculators and individuals should be baned by government. In this series, I tried to show and match these painted walls with people and passerbies.

The Nine Emperor Gods Festival !
The Nine Emperor Gods Festival (popularly known as the Vegetarian Festival) is a profound cultural phenomenon rooted in Chinese folk beliefs, flourishing with unique local intensity in Southern Thailand. Celebrated during the ninth lunar month, devotees observe strict spiritual cleansing through vegetarianism and the wearing of white robes. In regions like Phang Nga and Phuket, the festival is renowned for its extreme sensory rituals—spirit mediums manifesting divine presence amidst \\\"rainfalls\\\" of firecrackers and thick gunpowder smoke. It is a breathtaking spectacle where spiritual devotion meets physical endurance, representing a collective quest for purification and ancestral blessing.

Sky Walker
This photograph was taken in a corner of a commercial complex in Tokyo. By combining the blue of the sky with pedestrians walking along the orange pavement reflected on the roof, an unreal sensation was created, as if the people were walking on a skywalk high above.

Holding the line

Stillness in a Moving City
Amid the constant motion of the street, she sits—unmoving, watchful, and grounded. Framed through the geometry of passing bicycles and surrounded by traffic, people, and stray dogs, her presence becomes a quiet counterpoint to the city’s urgency. The world rushes forward, but she remains, holding her space with silent resilience. The low morning light turns the street into a stage of shadows and gold, isolating her figure while still binding her to the life around her. I used the bicycle frame as a visual boundary to place the viewer inside the street rather than observing from a distance. This image is not about speed or spectacle—it is about endurance, about the people who exist in the in-between spaces of the city, where waiting itself becomes a form of survival.

Hands
While walking through the alleys of Kathmandu I came across this elderly lady. I was struck by the color of her hands and the contrast it created on her clothes. She held 20 rupees (0.14 euros) with so much attention, that she made me think about the intrinsic value of money and the value we attribute to it.

Pizza delivery courier
The photo was taken with Leica Summarit LTM 50mm/F1.5 1952 and Leica M11 This is my shadow lens. No sun or light. I\'ve started liking gray again. A rare lens for winter. \\\"The world of food delivery couriers is so vast that everyone who works in it feels truly alone. But without them, rushing to us every second, our lives would come to a standstill\\\"

Mood of Venice
In the golden hush of a Venetian summer morning, a gondolier leans quietly on a bridge, lost in thought, as the narrow canal behind him waits in silent anticipation. The striped shirt, sunhat, and tattoos mark a modern spirit rooted in timeless tradition. This image captures more than a city, it reflects a pause between journeys, where centuries of history breathe through the still waters and shuttered windows of Venice. A fleeting, contemplative moment in a place where time flows like the canals themselves.

Cuba 20 years later
Exactly 20 years ago, my wife, a couple of friends and I went on a tourist trip to Cuba, with images of waving palm trees, white beaches, typical vintage cars, old ladies smoking cigars and portraits of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara in our minds. Despite the fact that it was a wonderful trip, 20 years later I still had the feeling that I had largely missed the authentic feel of Cuba. As a result, we decided to take another trip through Cuba in 2024, although from a completely different perspective and away from the well-trodden tourist paths. This time, we did not stay in huge hotels but in so-called “Casas Particulares” and we did not travel by car but by local taxi or bus in order to be as close to the people as possible. It was an experience to remember. I was particularly charmed by the fact that people live outside on the streets, often in very poor conditions, but are nevertheless extremely hospitable. With this series, I don\'t want to convey the typical image of Cuba, nor do I want to turn it into a historical document, but rather share a small piece of my feelings about how I experienced this vibrant street life.

Последний зритель

This striking image captures a moment of synchronized effort framed by high-contrast geometry. The silhouettes of two figures dominate the foreground, their forms rendered in deep black against the weathered, sun-drenched facade of an industrial building.

Waiting Alone
Amid countless empty chairs, one quiet presence remains — absorbed in a small world of words. In the vastness of absence, solitude becomes both refuge and witness to passing time.

The Harmony of Cherry Blossoms and the City
The cityscape viewed from a high vantage point. Cherry blossoms drift down from the trees, coloring the streets. A solitary figure with a red umbrella crosses the crosswalk, adding a vivid splash of color to the restrained urban landscape. The painted road markings guide the eye, creating an impression of a quiet morning despite the absence of surrounding skyscrapers.
