The Menorquin Fiestas and Jaleos are chaotic events that have been held every summer for centuries where skilled riders and their Menorquin horses gallop through crowds. Riders try to make the horse stand on its hind legs, also called a \\\'bot\\\', and the bravest people try to touch the horse\\\'s chest while it\\\'s in this position as it is said to bring good luck. Taken in July in Menorca, Spain.
In the foreground, a calm lake perfectly reflects the orange trees and mountains, creating an almost symmetrical scene. The lake\\\'s edges are partially frozen, lending a cold yet luminous atmosphere thanks to the sunlight illuminating the trees.
Wrapped in the warmth of golden hour, the subject drifts into a quiet, introspective state. The soft glow of the field and the delicate red flower create a subtle contrast between warmth and fragility. With eyes lowered and movements slowed, the image captures a fleeting moment — where light softens everything it touches, and emotion lingers in silence.
Seven hundred kilometers from home with only one lens in my bag. Our second shoot in as many days and only the second time we had ever worked together. Late spring, the sky heavy with clouds and the light shifting every minute.
We were still searching for our rhythm when the harbor grew quiet. She raised her hands, the world slipped out of focus, and for a brief moment everything aligned. Some moments cannot be planned. They simply stay.
