Winters in Van are very harsh. The villagers who raise livestock bear the brunt of the difficulties, as their journeys are arduous. The distance from the animal barn to the water source for irrigation is quite long. There is snow on the ground, the air is freezing, and the road is long.

The thunderous sound of hooves and the vibration of the ground are still fresh in my memory. At that critical moment when the sun hit from behind, I saw how the rising dust cloud merged perfectly with the silhouettes of the horses. I wanted to leave the details in the dark and capture only the beam of light emphasizing power and movement. Looking through the viewfinder, all I felt was awe in the face of nature\'s untamable energy.
Leap Through Tradition
Captured during the vibrant Kakava Festival in Edirne, this black-and-white photograph freezes a powerful moment where tradition, courage, and communal spirit merge into a single act. In the heart of this annual celebration of Romani culture, a man leaps through a wall of fire an echo of ancient rituals symbolizing renewal, purification, and connection to ancestral roots.
Suspended mid-air, his form is both tense and graceful, silhouetted by flames that light up the night and the watching faces. The crowd encircles him, transfixed drawn not just by the spectacle, but by the meaning behind it. Their eyes reflect reverence, pride, and memory. Beneath the leaper, sparks and shadows stir like forgotten stories awakened once more.
This is not merely a display of physical daring it is a ritual passage. A tribute to identity, to history, and to the spirit that binds generations together.
In an age defined by speed and change, Kakava stands as a reminder: some traditions still burn bright, fueled by heritage, unity, and the enduring power of belief.
The cockroach is a member of the Blennioidei suborder of the Perciformes order, belonging to the Blenniidae family. It lives in all our seas, is not a food source, and is a member of the goby fish family. I took the attached photo in the Sea of Marmara in July.

– В рейтинге лучших фотографий учитывается только одна — самая сильная — работа от каждого автора. Даже если у фотографа опубликовано несколько работ, в расчёте позиции используется только одна, с наивысшим рейтингом. Поэтому порядок фотографий в списке может не совпадать с итоговым положением автора в рейтинге.
– The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
– Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
– Only one strongest photo from each author is counted in the Best Photos ranking. Even if a photographer has several published works, only the highest-rated one is used to calculate their ranking position. As a result, the order of photos in the list may not match the author's final ranking position.
