At Dawn, mist envelops Federa Lake, dissolving the boundaries between water and land. This images explores the quiet transition of light and ephemeral nature of landscape.
Seen from above, the road becomes something entirely different — no longer just a path, but a golden vein pulsing through the autumn landscape.
Its curves flow with a quiet sense of purpose, tracing a delicate line between the muted browns and fading greens of the forest.
There’s a calm intensity in the way it winds forward, as if carrying the last warmth of the season before winter folds over the mountains.
For a moment, the world feels suspended — a heartbeat drawn in gold across the earth.
Captured in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, just one day before the Gliding Barnacles surf event began. I was photographing from inside the water when my camera battery suddenly died. I ran back to the car to change it, hoping the light would still be there when I returned. With only moments left, I managed to shoot a few frames of the sunset from outside the water, and suddenly this scene unfolded: a lone surfer crossing the horizon, silhouetted against a giant red sun and a sky burning in deep sunset tones. Sometimes the best images happen right after you think you’ve missed them.
Wings of Silence is a portrait series that explores the subtle dialogue between stillness and movement, fabric and skin, the ephemeral and the eternal. Through textures, gestures, and quiet emotion, the images evoke the ghostly beauty of early ballet photography and the spiritual delicacy of a dragonfly’s wings.

In this dialogue between architecture and the human figure, Crossing the Light transports us to a space of contemplation and transition. The central silhouette, cloaked in shadow, walks quietly toward the illuminated horizon, in a composition where light draws the path and the structure becomes both stage and character.
The metallic surface of the building reflects the setting sun like a distorted mirror of time and memory. In the background, the Tagus River cradles boats resting in the water\\\'s glow, evoking a sense of departure or reunion.
This image captures IC 443, widely known as the Jellyfish Nebula, a vast supernova remnant located in the constellation Gemini. The delicate filaments and glowing arcs visible here are the expanding shock fronts from a massive star that ended its life tens of thousands of years ago. As the stellar debris ploughs into surrounding molecular clouds, it excites hydrogen and oxygen gas, producing the intricate web of emission seen in this portrait.
The nebula’s soft, translucent appearance—reminiscent of a drifting jellyfish—contrasts with the extreme violence of its origin. Beneath its ethereal beauty lies a powerful astrophysical laboratory, where stellar death reshapes the interstellar medium and seeds it with heavy elements essential for future generations of stars and planets.
Photographed under light-polluted skies, this image required long integration times and careful processing to reveal the faint structures that make IC 443 one of the most challenging and rewarding supernova remnants to capture.

– The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
– Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
– Only one strongest photo from each author is counted in the Best Photos ranking. Even if a photographer has several published works, only the highest-rated one is used to calculate their ranking position. As a result, the order of photos in the list may not match the author's final ranking position.
