Embrace of the Sky Swept the drone high above the winding road to catch what might be the widest rainbow I\'ve ever witnessed, curving all the way over Kirkjufell\'s proud silhouette and down into the dark blue bay. Chased fleeting light, battled wind, nearly lost the battery. But some moments are worth every shiver. Grateful Iceland decided to show off today.

Face-Off
On a public walkway at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, a brief territorial dispute erupted between a monkey and a stray dog. The monkey chased and bit the dog’s hind leg, forcing it to spin around in self-defense. The moment captures the raw unpredictability of life in a shared urban space.

The Mud Warrior
This is Pacu Jawi, a traditional bull race in West Sumatra. I captured the moment of intense speed where the jockey is covered in mud while holding onto two fast bulls. It shows the raw power of the animals and the amazing balance of the man. Everything happens so fast in the muddy field, and you can see the struggle to stay on target. Indonesia (2024).

Stillness in a Moving City
Amid the constant motion of the street, she sits—unmoving, watchful, and grounded. Framed through the geometry of passing bicycles and surrounded by traffic, people, and stray dogs, her presence becomes a quiet counterpoint to the city’s urgency. The world rushes forward, but she remains, holding her space with silent resilience. The low morning light turns the street into a stage of shadows and gold, isolating her figure while still binding her to the life around her. I used the bicycle frame as a visual boundary to place the viewer inside the street rather than observing from a distance. This image is not about speed or spectacle—it is about endurance, about the people who exist in the in-between spaces of the city, where waiting itself becomes a form of survival.

Against the Storm
This photo was taken during a sandstorm in the Thar Desert, where a Toad-headed agama was standing on a sand dune. Getting an agama during a sandstorm, where the composition, posture, and everything falls in place, was really difficult and challenging. But it was worth experiencing the moment.

Captured from a rising drone perspective, this photograph reveals the breathtaking symmetry and spiritual intensity of the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Varanasi,Uttar Pradesh , India. The glowing circles of fire, drifting incense, and gathered devotees form a living tapestry of light and devotion along the ancient riverfront. From above, the scene transforms into a mesmerizing pattern—where ritual, culture, and the timeless flow of the Ganga meet in one luminous moment.

A quiet chorus, paused between songs.
Lined up along a slender twig, these Tricolored Munias form a perfect vertical harmony, each bird patiently holding its place. Their striking black, white, and chestnut plumage stands out beautifully against the soft, blurred greens of the landscape, turning a simple perch into a story of balance and togetherness. The gentle spacing between them hints at social order, while their calm postures reflect the quiet moments that define flock life.

Cannibalism Within the Clan
Cannibalism among spiders has long fascinated arachnologists, yet within the diverse world of jumping spiders (family Salticidae), such behavior is rarely observed and even more rarely documented. The present observation records a striking instance of egg predation — a female Two-Striped Jumper (Telamonia dimidiata) consuming an entire egg sac of its own species. Though such behavior is known to scientists, it has never before been visually documented in this species. During a field survey in the moist undergrowth of Murshidabad, West Bengal, India, I observed a mature female T. dimidiata actively locating and feeding upon an egg sac. The act was deliberate and sustained, indicating a purposeful feeding behavior rather than incidental disturbance. The female pierced the silk casing with her chelicerae, extracted the eggs, and consumed them one by one until the sac was completely emptied. Eggs are among the most protein-rich resources in nature, and such opportunistic cannibalism may represent an adaptive response to nutritional stress or reproductive demand. Female spiders, particularly those engaged in or recovering from oviposition, often face a high metabolic requirement. Consuming non-viable or unguarded eggs may therefore provide a crucial supplement of energy and amino acids necessary for survival or future reproductive success.

Non-biting midge
A non-biting midge (family Chironomidae) rests on a grass leaf in the early winter morning. The leaf is covered with fresh water droplets formed during the chilly night, while the insect remains dry and still, waiting for the first warmth of sunlight. A quiet moment that highlights the calm and fragile beauty of winter mornings.

Law of the Frozen Shore
On a stark Arctic shoreline, two polar bears converge over a fallen seal — a prize wrested from a vanishing world. The sequence traces the silent negotiation of dominance: approach, assessment, confrontation, and reluctant coexistence. In monochrome, texture replaces color — fur against stone, muscle against tide, life against death. What unfolds is not spectacle but necessity. In the Arctic, survival is inherited through strength, timing, and resolve. The ice offers no guarantees; it only tests those who remain.

The Action !!!
The Cattle Race of Bengal is an exhilarating and culturally significant sport that captivates the villages of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal, India. This traditional event, often held during local festivals and celebrations, showcases the exceptional bond between the farmers and their cattle, particularly bulls. Participants skillfully guide their trained animals along a marked track, often adorned with vibrant decorations. Spectators gather to cheer as the bulls race against each other, their speed and agility drawing admiration and excitement from the crowd. The event not only highlights the agricultural heritage of the region but also fosters community spirit and camaraderie among villagers, making the Cattle Race a cherished spectacle in the rural landscape of Bengal.

Tale of a Tail
This photograph offers an intimate, anatomically revealing portrait of the Indian Chameleon\\\\\\\'s prehensile tail (Chamaeleo zeylanicus), achieved through the precise use of backlighting. By placing the light source directly behind the tail, the skin is rendered translucent, dramatically highlighting the fine, granular texture of the scales and, most strikingly, the delicate, branching network of blood vessels beneath the surface. This intense illumination reveals the inner biology of the tail—a living, coiled helix, transforming it into a translucent sculpture that underscores the power of its prehensile function and the intricate fragility of the reptile\'s vascular system.

A green caterpillar caught by a tiny predator — nature in action
A giant caterpillar is caught by the tiny hunter Rhene flavicomans, a wasp-mimic jumping spider. Despite the massive difference in size, the spider shows extraordinary courage and precision, gripping its prey with perfect timing. This dramatic moment reveals nature’s truth — survival depends not on size, but on skill, instinct, and strategy.

Territorial fight
Let\\\'s see who holds the upper hand in a fierce territorial battle between birds. In the wild, dominance is everything, and when two rivals clash over territory, it\\\'s a test of strength, agility, and strategy. With wings spread wide, sharp beaks clashing, and talons ready to strike, each bird fights to assert control. The battle is intense—swift aerial maneuvers, aggressive calls, and relentless attacks determine the victor. The stronger, more determined bird claims the territory, while the defeated one retreats, awaiting another chance. In nature, survival belongs to the most powerful.

Kestrels fightiing for dominance
This photo was taken at Bhigwan Bird Sanctuary, Maharashtra, during an early morning session while I was waiting for the kestrel to take flight. With my frame pre-set, I anticipated a clean flight shot. Instead, an unexpected moment unfolded when another bird suddenly flew in from behind, leading to a brief mid-air tussle with wings fully spread and talons extended. The encounter lasted only seconds, but instinct and preparation allowed me to capture its intensity and symmetry. It is a reminder that wildlife photography rewards patience, awareness, and sometimes, a little luck. Technical: Canon R5, RF 200–800mm at 570mm, f/8, 1/2000s, ISO 1000.

Bound by Love: A Moment of Primate Togetherness.
This heartwarming image captures a tender moment in the life of a rhesus macaque family. A mother cradles her two young ones closely, exuding warmth and protection amidst the dappled forest light. One infant is nursing while the other nestles securely against the mother, their expressive eyes reflecting curiosity and trust. The lush, blurred greenery in the background highlights the intimate connection and natural beauty of primate life in their habitat.

The other bird is perched calmly, facing the first bird. Their feathers are a mix of green, blue, orange, and yellow, creating a striking contrast with the background. The scene captures a lively and natural moment between the birds involving a smal gift for its companion.

Thirst\'s Arc
his shot was all about translating a vital survival moment into a visual sweep of motion. I focused on a giraffe approaching the watering hole under the cover of night, driven by thirst. Knowing how quickly they drop and lift their heads to drink, I deliberately set a one-second slow shutter speed. As the giraffe finished drinking and quickly thrust its long neck upright, I executed a subtle Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). This fusion of the animal\'s natural movement and the ICM is what created that incredible, ethereal arc—a testament to the power of motion as the giraffe rapidly went from bending to drink to regaining its towering, upright posture. Guardians of the Green Heart: The Mentawai of Siberut
Deep in the rainforest, I found the oldest tribe of Indonesia living with ancient rituals that lured me to document them. This story begins with the characters: the mystic Aman Java and the hunter Aman Lari. I found them in the jungle searching for prey, a perfect synchronization where Aman Java scans the canopy while Aman Lari tracks the ground. After an intense search, the mystic’s experience speaks, and they follow his lead to new ground. Finally, Aman Java points out the prey; Aman Lari spots it and smiles as it is exactly on his target. Living with them, I felt such warmth; they have no modern things, but they have welcoming smiles and a beautiful sanctuary in nature. ( Siberut, Indonesia 2025 )

Eight Eyes in the Winter Sun
January 2026. Deep inside a dry deciduous forest, the western sun was already turning amber. The cold air carried a rare stillness — the kind that only appears in winter when life slows and every sound becomes louder. On a rough, weathered branch sat four Spotted Owls, pressed shoulder to shoulder. They were not resting. They were warming themselves in the final rays of the day, soaking in the heat after a long, cold night of hunting. Their feathers were fluffed, eyes half-open — calm, yet alert. In the wild, even peace is temporary. Suddenly, everything changed. A Jungle Cat emerged silently from the undergrowth in front of them. Almost at the same moment, a Darter called from behind me, its sharp voice cutting through the stillness. And in that instant — the forest froze. Four owls stiffened. Eight golden eyes locked forward. No wings moved. No bird called. This was not fear — it was awareness. Owls are masters of energy conservation. In winter, every movement costs precious heat and strength. Yet when a predator appears, their entire body shifts into survival mode — eyes wide, posture upright, senses tuned like instruments. They were not hunting. They were being hunted. The Jungle Cat paused, sensing it was being watched. The owls did not blink. For a few seconds, predator and prey shared the same breath. Then, as quietly as it had appeared, the cat melted back into the forest. The darter fell silent. And slowly, the owls relaxed — still together, still alive. This photograph captures more than four birds on a branch. It captures the invisible tension that rules the wild — the constant balance between calm and danger, between life and loss. In those eight eyes lives a truth of nature: In the wild, even silence is a form of survival.

MORNING DISPUTE
The sun spilled its first gold across the wetland, and these wood sandpipers turned it into a stage—wings catching fire, feathers trembling with purpose. For a breath, the marsh belonged to their ancient argument, a fleeting war painted in amber and shadow. Some battles are fought not for territory, but for the sheer poetry of being alive.

Poltys mouhoti — nature’s leaf in disguise....!
Meet the fascinating Poltys mouhoti, a master of disguise from the orb-weaver family. With its elongated abdomen and reddish leaf-like marking, it blends seamlessly with dried leaves and twigs, making it almost invisible during the day. This nocturnal spider emerges at night to spin its web, while spending daylight hours perfectly camouflaged against nature. Its unique body shape, complete with a whip-like projection, is a brilliant evolutionary adaptation for survival. Rarely seen and even more rarely photographed in detail, this spider is a true wonder of the forest.

Echoes in the Stillness
In the fading light of Tadoba’s Dewada zone, the forest fell into an almost surreal silence. Breaking through the stillness, Shambhu, the dominant tiger of the territory, emerged partially submerged in a water body—his presence both calm and commanding. As he let out a powerful yawn, often mistaken for a roar, it revealed not aggression but a moment of raw, unguarded behavior. The golden hues reflecting off the water, paired with the dark, minimalistic background, isolated him in a frame that feels both intimate and dramatic. This image captures more than just a tiger—it reflects the quiet dominance of a predator at ease in his realm, where even the smallest movement carries the weight of the wild.

A Tiny Treasure in the Woods
I frequently venture out on weekends to explore the fascinating world of macro photography. During a weekend macro photo walk near my town, I discovered this vibrant green Fltidae planthopper in a man-made forest area. The tiny creature was perched on a textured branch, its striking lime color beautifully contrasting with the deep blue, bokeh-filled background. This image captures the beauty and intricacy of the small wonders that can be found close to home, reminding us of the rich biodiversity thriving even in man-made environments.

Innocence in the Eyes of Earth.
This powerful portrait captures the essence of childhood, portraying a young boy with dirt smeared across his face, symbolizing his close connection with nature. His intense gaze, framed by disheveled hair, speaks volumes of the purity and untainted spirit of youth. The dirt on his face contrasts with the clarity of his deep, expressive eyes, reflecting a raw and untouched innocence. This image beautifully illustrates the purity and resilience found in the simplicity of a child’s world.

Amber of Shola Grassland
High in the cloud-kissed peaks of the Western Ghats, I encountered the Resplendent Bush Frog (Raorchestes resplendens), a species described only in 2010 and listed as Critically Endangered (IUCN Red List). Endemic to a tiny stretch of grasslands near the summit of Meesapulimala in Idukki district, Kerala, this frog is found nowhere else on Earth. Its brilliant orange coloration and extremely restricted range make it one of the rarest amphibians globally. Photographing it in its fragile montane habitat was not just a visual encounter but a glimpse into one of India’s most endangered wilderness treasures.

Shadow
I clicked this photo at Sunder Nursery. I had gone there randomly with my friend. While walking around, this place suddenly caught our attention. The light coming through the gate was really beautiful, so we stopped there. A lot of pigeons were flying in and out, creating a lovely scene. We could see the moment, but we weren’t able to capture it properly because someone or the other kept walking into the frame. So we waited again. After almost an hour, I finally got this frame.

Reflections
While exploring the lesser-known canyons of Khadiyadro in Kutch, I came across a scene that felt straight out of another world. Towering rocks, shaped by years of wind and water, stood around a shallow pool that quietly reflected the night sky. The stars seemed to pour right between the cliffs, their trails mirrored perfectly in the water below.

In the early morning light, peoples walk along the banks of the Yamuna River, with the majestic Taj Mahal towering in the background. The gentle rays of the rising sun cast soft shadows, rendering the monument in striking black and white tones that heighten its timeless allure. The simplicity of the scene, with its minimalist composition and carefully arranged lighting, creates a serene atmosphere that speaks to the soul. Dwarfed by the grandeur of the Taj Mahal, move quietly, their presence adding a subtle touch of life to the still and tranquil setting. The reflection of the monument in the calm waters of the river further enhances the sense of peace and stillness. This image, titled \"Whispers of Silence\" invites viewers to pause and absorb the profound calm that emanates from the scene, offering a moment of respite and reflection in a world that often moves too fast. It is a visual poem of serenity and timeless beauty.

Solitude Beneath Wings
In the soft haze of early morning, a lone man sits quietly in his boat as hundreds of birds sweep across the misty sky. The stillness of his silhouette contrasts beautifully with the restless motion above, creating a moment suspended between solitude and chaos. The fog-covered water, the gentle ripples and the flock in flight come together to tell a story of contemplation, routine and the quiet poetry of everyday life.

This is a land shaped by the ebb and flow of the seasons, a verdant sanctuary where the Western and Eastern Ghats converge. It is here, amidst the rustling bamboo and the dense undergrowth, that the most elusive hunter of the Indian jungle makes its home. This picture is not a casual sighting, but a glimpse into the private world of an Indian Leopard. Known for their solitary and secretive nature. The leopard in this shot embodies that silent power, its body coiled low to the ground, a muscular symphony of spots and shadows. The image captures the essence of this wild refuge.
