A mature wild alligator rises into frame with the stillness of a living sculpture. Photographed from an ultra-low, immersive angle, the scene reveals the quiet strength and sheer scale of a giant bull gator as he surfaces among the reflections of the cypress forest.
Western screech owls typically live in small discreet cavities in trees and usually emerge just after sunset to hunt during the night. The patterns of their plumage allow them to blend into the patterns of bark and they are often camouflaged. After the early spring rains this screech owl\'s home is ringed by a halo of fresh green mosses. I was able to try a variety of shutter speeds to best retain detail in the waning light.
After diving and sitting in the water for forty-five seconds to get a secure grasp of its catch, the Osprey exploded out of the water using all of its might and special talons to lift an enormous Talapia out of the water. Rising through mist and silence, these towers seem less like structures and more like aspirations made visible. Their forms pierce the sky as if searching for something beyond the horizon — a quiet reminder of humanity’s enduring desire to ascend, to communicate, and to leave a mark between earth and infinity.
Amid countless empty chairs, one quiet presence remains — absorbed in a small world of words.
In the vastness of absence, solitude becomes both refuge and witness to passing time.
Shrouded in clouds, the mysterious mountain on the Antarctica peninsula South of the Antarctic Circle gives a wanderlust, other world feel to the viewer. Stark and beautiful, the scene beckons visitors.
People interacting with a wild pink river dolphin in the Rio Negro, Brazil. The dolphin is free-ranging and untrained, approaching and leaving by choice. The image documents a form of coexistence where human presence does not imply control, and interaction remains voluntary.
\\\"Relentless Guardians\\\" captures the raw intensity and unwavering duty of first responders amidst the urban night. Set against a backdrop of cascading water and piercing light, the image highlights the solitary focus of the figure battling the elements. This black and white composition emphasizes texture, atmospheric mist, and the stark contrast of the city\\\'s nocturnal pulse, serving as a tribute to those who maintain order in the heart of chaos\\\"
On a morning wildlife cruise in Southeast Alaska, this juvenile bear carefully entered the water in search of salmon. Young and inexperienced, he did more wandering than fishing. After what felt like an eternity of blundering around in the shade, he slowly approached the only visible patch of sun. As he crossed into the light, his silhouette lit up, glowing with pure magic.
In this suspended moment, nature enforces its quiet law. The web is not just a trap—it is a threshold, where instinct meets consequence, and survival hangs by a thread. Captured with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, this image reflects how modern tools can reveal timeless truths—when wielded with intention.
The “Serpent” painted in light intertwines with human movement, quietly breathing within the space. Layered through long exposure, its trails hold the subtle echoes of life between motion and stillness.
Heavyweights in the wild. Shot in Katmai Wilderness, Alaska summer 2025. The salmon run was just about to begin and the Bears coming out of hibernation were getting ready for the challenge
The photo shows the front of a tall apartment building with rows of glass balconies and windows. The design is very symmetrical, with repeating rectangular shapes stacked in a grid. The sunlight gives the building a golden tone on one side, while the other side is in shadow. A few details stand out among the uniform pattern — a bright pink cloth hanging on one balcony, a yellow light in a window, and some balconies with chairs or drying racks
The Yellow River Basin is a beloved habitat for migratory birds. This land bears the unique imprint of the Mother River, with vibrant colors. The red beach, resembling a chessboard, echoes with the cries of birds, creating a harmonious blend of movement and stillness, embodying a uniquely Eastern romanticism.
Carmel-by-the-Sea felt timeless—the cliffs, carved by waves, reaching back to the ocean like a memory. As my drone soared, I captured this fleeting moment, a glimpse of nature’s raw, untamed beauty.
Fuzzy-nosed Tarot would like to say \"HI!\" and let you know Sphinx cats aren\'t always completely hairless. He has fuzz that feels a little like a chamois. He insist he\'s the best kind of kitty there is. Don\'t you agree?
This image explores the intimate dialogue between light and texture. The pumpkin becomes more than a seasonal object—it stands as a sculptural presence shaped by time, earth, and patience. Through controlled framing and intentional shadow play, the photograph elevates simplicity into quiet visual poetry.
Look at Me
In Look at Me, the gaze becomes the center of the narrative, where strength and vulnerability coexist. The slight turn of the body paired with a direct gaze captures a moment suspended between revealing and concealing. The contrast of colors around the eyes suggests an inner tension, turning the portrait into an invitation for an honest encounter between the subject and the viewer.
This is part of my collection of portraits from my last trip to Varanasi. These are not just pictures but souvenirs of the moments I spent talking to these people.
The power of this photo lies in its layered echo across scale and generations. Your eye lands first on the child’s ecstatic, unfiltered joy, then notices the toy car mirroring the full-size car behind it. That visual rhyme feels both humorous and profound, a cultural tradition being absorbed and reenacted in real time. Candid and authentic, the bold red toy anchors the frame while the background adds context, hinting at identity, inheritance, and culture passed down on four tiny wheels.
With innocence in his eyes and determination in his step, this young traveler carries more than just a suitcase—he holds the spirit of adventure. This portrait captures a timeless story of childhood curiosity, set in the golden warmth of nature. The soft bokeh background and vintage styling evoke nostalgia, while the natural light adds a dreamlike quality to this narrative-driven composition.
I stumbled accross this red-shouldered hawk eating a coot in a very shallow part of Owens Lake in California. It took over an hour for the bird to grow confident that I meant no harm. An agreement was reached between the two of us: I would sit quietly and watch, and the bird would go about this age old process of eating that seemed reminiscent of a very precise surgery. The shot was taken in the morning with a Sony A1 and 200-600mm lens at f/9, 1/2500, ISO 1600.
This is a story about a woman who comes back to herself. In the curve of her back, in the absence of her face, in the tension of her hands, there is truth. There is memory. There is a woman who is learning to live again, and through feeling, to exist.
– The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
– Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
– Only one strongest photo from each author is counted in the Best Photos ranking. Even if a photographer has several published works, only the highest-rated one is used to calculate their ranking position. As a result, the order of photos in the list may not match the author's final ranking position.
