Из этой внешней схожести следует глубокий философский вывод: человек в своем начале также прост, естественен и полон потенциала, как и это растение. Переплетение тонких белых корней луковицы в стакане воды служит тонкой метафорой связи поколений: так же, как растение черпает воду силу из скрытых основ, так и каждый ребенок несет в себе невидимое наследие своих предков. Моя фотография о том, как важно сохранять свои корни и видеть мир таким же ясным и открытым взглядом, как этот ребенок.

We live in an age
where a child has become a rare species.
Like a snow leopard child,
she peers into the world with wary eyes.
She looks at us
as if she knows:
the world is no longer
the territory of humanity.

Salima was born a deaf girl into a deaf family. She was fortunate with her aunt, who took her into guardianship when she was six months old and succeeded in obtaining a state quota for cochlear implant surgery. Gradually, Salima began to hear and to speak.
She was born with two different eyes — one dark like the earth, the other blue like water.
Her parents are deaf and mute. Since she was very young, she learned to listen to the world with her eyes and to speak through her gaze — where silence can still tell stories. In those eyes, two worlds meet: a world without sound, and a world full of things longing to be heard.
There is no voice inside their small home — only eyes and drawings. She began to draw at a very early age, not only because she loves beauty, but because it is how she speaks to her parents. Every drawing is a story: a day at school, a passing dream, or a sadness she does not yet know how to name.
She speaks through colors, through lines, and through the quiet language of her two different eyes — to her parents, and to the world.
