Fight for life and death [TOP100]

I have witnessed the combat between and short toed snake eagle and snakes in past but the combat just lasts for few fraction of seconds and the eagle in all majesty dominates the snake every time and makes an easy meal even before we approach them for pictures, however this particular instance the five foot snake was brave enough to fight back and it took multiple attempts for eagle to conquer the snake. It took almost 6 years of patience and perseverance to execute these images under challenging lighting conditions. At the end of the day nature is unpredictable and we were just mere spectators.

Flamingo are found by the million in Kenya. The lake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. The lake's level dropped dramatically in the early 1990s but has since largely recovered. In 2013, the lake received an alarming increase in the water levels that led to the migration of flamingos to Lake Bogoria in search for food supply.

Находится среди такого скопления самцов с тремя медвежатами было крайне опасно для малышей и медведица старалась не отходить от них, время от времени бросать их мчатся за рыбиной. В один из таких моментов медвежата решили что находиться ближе к маме будет безопасней и забрались на небольшую корягу посреди реки. Видя что малыши рядом медведица начала спокойно рыбачить недалеко от них, но к несчастью медвежат заметил проходящий мимо самец, он начал подходить к малышам с явно не добрыми намерениями. До трагедии оставались считанные секунды, но крик малышей привлек медведицу и в туже секунду она ринулась защищать их.

I was a witness to a strange behaviour of the lioness after a pregnant kill.. The lioness went into her usual routine and started feeding on the kill... The unborn womb was outside her abdomen, after her fill she dragged the kill to the safety of a bush.. And as usual walked to get her cubs for the feed.. We were astonished, and stunned when she came back a few steps and picked up the unborn womb and carried it in her mouth for her cubs to feed.. A rare and spine chilling experience, of mixed feeling, sadness for the date of the unborn and love of the mother towards her cubs..

In the Jigokudani Monkey Park there is a large group of japanese macaques living around an open Onsen (japanese hot spring). These primates are highly social, and their social interactions are the basis of their daily life. Being there, you can see them playing, quarrelling, grooming and comunicating with each other, or simply trying to enjoy a relaxing bath while they watch for their infants. In this serie I try to depict a little selection of these interactions that I feel as profoundly human.

angry jackal

These two birds were practically jumping for joy after they made this quick getaway. They leapt to flight when a hungry Golden Jackal went after them in a snowy ambush. It was a close shave for the lucky birds with the jackal only feet behind them as they took off. “I was glad just to be able to photograph a jackal. “But suddenly he rushed towards the magpies. These birds are not the usual prey for the jackals and I am pretty sure the jackal was not going to chase them. “I just had a feeling that the magpies provoked the jackal for some reason. I would say the magpies just made the jackal mad just with their presence. “And he looked really angry. There was a moment when it seemed the jackal would grasp the bird – but the birds are quite fast and cautious and this time they were lucky enough to escape “I am fond of wildlife photography and this was a usual shooting – I was lucky to see a golden jackal and actually I did not expect any action shots. “And the jackal relaxed just after the birds disappeared from his sight. “Of course I feel happy I saw this action and have been able to photograph and make some descent shots.”

Брачные отношения

Ритуальное кормление самцом самки - важный процесс выстраивания брачных отношений у многих видов птиц. Золотистые щурки не исключение. Самец предлагает угощение самке при создании пары, при ухаживании за ней в процессе рытья норки, высиживания яиц и выращивания птенцов, ну и наконец, как приглашение к спариванию. Сам процесс кормления сродни театральному представлению. Самец предлагает самке лакомство (хорошо обработанное и, обычно, легкое в употреблении). При этом самка не торопится его принять, она, как и любая женщина, делает вид, что не замечает ухажера, изумляется до испуга, делает вид, что раздумывает. Самец повторяет свое предложение до 3-4 раз, иногда даже слегка, ласково, подталкивает в бок самку угощением. Немного повредничав, самка благосклонно принимает подношение. :)

In May 2019 I attended a photo event in Hungary in the hides of Mr. Máté Bence. The main objective was to observe and photograph forest and water birds in their natural environment from special photographic hides. In these pictures, I captured the grey heron while lurking and hunting. The heron is generally known as very shy bird, but from perfect hides I could photograph it from a short distance and shoot its body details.

Hiding the nest

In the photograph, a black turtle (Chelonia agassizii) on the beaches of Michoacán. This work was done on supervision and instructions of the Black Turtle Specialist Group and the Colola Turtle Camp staff. the photo was taken at midnight, at the moment the turtle is in a trance, after laying the eggs. This is the stage in which it is dedicated to cover and camouflage the nest. At this moment, it was allowed to use lighting in a very prudent way, so as not to affect the natural behavior and health of this and the other specimens on the beach.

Sunset and Flamingos

This is Pulicat Lake, which is the second largest lagoon in India. Every year thousands of flamingos visit this place. I spent eight hours photographing these birds at this place, and this was the image I made when the sun was setting. I spent almost six hours shooting these birds sitting in the water with my camera on an icebox to get low angle perspective and the sun reflecting off the water.

Oryx in Sand Storm in UAE Desert

The Arabian Oryx extinct in 1970 and reintroduced in 1980 and till today by the great ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi great ruler Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and his family. The Arabian Oryx are thriving in the deep desert in UAE due to the conservation effort carried out in last three decades. The recent study reveals over 1000 Oryx in wild and these two is from that herd. It is the most successful mammal reintroduction program in UAE. I was lucky to capture them in sand storm as this.

Triangular fight

During my visit to Manglajori, Odisha, India, a marshland, I observed the battle of a Brahminy Kite with Black-headed Ibis. Actually, Black-headed Ibis caught a snake from the marshland, the Kite suddenly noticed and take a chance to snatch the snake from Ibis. But like a friend a Great Egret did a full support with Ibis against that Kite. This is one of the rare moment, my good luck that I got a chance to capture their war.

В воде при рывке птица развивает до 30-40 км/ч, что сравнимо со скоростью хорошей подводной лодки. Разогнавшись, пингвин применяет крылья, перепончатые лапы и хвост как рули, чтобы резко изменить направление движения. Почти без торможения он устремляется вверх, и инерция выносит его на лёд. Пингвины выскакивают из воды на полтора - два метра. Сделать его фотку в этот момент весьма непросто, ибо под водой пингвина практически не видно и уж совершенно непонятно, в каком месте и в какой момент он выпрыгнет...

sea of kings

This was shot at Fortuna Bay in south Georgia island. It was absolute chaos and wonderfully beautiful to see all of these king penguins. I was able to frame single brown down covered juvenile in all the adult plumage penguins. The juvenile is waiting for one of the parents to return from the sea. Since the chicks tend to wander, the parents will spend hours searching before finding their chick.

Beautiful Sunrise

It was around 7am in Talchapar , some of the Black bucks that were gazing into the grasses. I spotted the most beautiful Male , probably the dominant male of the heard, cause he was totally curious to know about me and was watching my activities through out the time. I kept my pace slow and was dressed in camouflage color in order to reduce disturbance. And i was lying down on the muddy land so the shy herd of black bucks can come closer to me . And I kept the Sun and the black buck parallel to my lens. The toughest challenge is that animal will move, I also changed my camera angle accordingly. For that, I needed to crawl and move a lot on the ground. And clicked my desired moment. Completely handheld shot. I Visited Mangalajodi Wetland, from Odisha in India, with the Intention of Observing & Clicking the Migratory Birds... During the Trip, I was Lucky Enough to Witness this Sequence, The Purple Heron Killed a Big Fish for its Lunch… The Purple Heron was Busy in Aligning the Fish to Gulp it down… In a Sudden Moment, A Brahminy Kite Appeared in the Scene and Directly Attacked the Purple Heron with the Intention of Snatching it Away from it, Typical Predator!!! But the Purple Heron had a Heart of Steel, it did not let go of its Hard Earned Kill and Fought Valiantly by Spreading its Wings to Distract the Brahminy Kite and Cleverly it let go of the Fish... It was an Outstanding Experience for Me to Witness Such a Rare Natural History Moment where the Brave Purple Heron Counter Attacked to Protect its Kill and Food from the Brahminy Kite…

Baya weaver

The baya weaver is a weaverbird found across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Flocks of these birds are found in grasslands, cultivated areas, scrub and secondary growth and they are best known for their hanging retort shaped nests woven from leaves. These nest colonies are usually found on thorny trees or palm fronds and the nests are often built near water or hanging over water where predators cannot reach easily. They are widespread and common within their range but are prone to local, seasonal movements mainly in response to rain and food availability.
