In the golden hush of a Venetian summer morning, a gondolier leans quietly on a bridge, lost in thought, as the narrow canal behind him waits in silent anticipation. The striped shirt, sunhat, and tattoos mark a modern spirit rooted in timeless tradition. This image captures more than a city, it reflects a pause between journeys, where centuries of history breathe through the still waters and shuttered windows of Venice. A fleeting, contemplative moment in a place where time flows like the canals themselves.
Bangladesh is one of the world’s largest brick producers, and this scene is part of a routine millions depend on for survival. Amid the harsh conditions, what struck me most was the workers’ quiet coordination an everyday choreography of labor, strength, and necessity. This image captures a lifestyle built on resilience, where work and life blend into one continuous flow, painted entirely in the color of the earth they shape.
This striking image captures a moment of synchronized effort framed by high-contrast geometry. The silhouettes of two figures dominate the foreground, their forms rendered in deep black against the weathered, sun-drenched facade of an industrial building.
Under the cyclone warning signals along the coast of Anwara, fishermen set out to sea. The weather is adverse, the danger is real, but remaining on the shore is not an option. Without a catch, there is no earning. With a sense of quiet determination, they launch their boats into the adverse conditions.
This setup was created as a tribute to my journey in photography — a frame within frames concept. I used hanging photo prints, a vintage camera, and soft window light to build a story of creativity, nostalgia, and dedication. Each photograph in the background represents my best captured moments of food and still life, while the flowers add a touch of freshness and warmth. My goal was to reflect how every image carries a piece of emotion and memory, frozen in time.
Family means togetherness — in every ripple of life.
The lesser whistling duck\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s family is an enchanting sight. These medium-sized waterfowl often gather near calm freshwater lakes, ponds, or wetlands. The ducklings are small and fluffy, covered in soft down feathers. They closely follow their parents in a tight group with one parent often leading while the other stays behind to guard.
A baby praying mantis perches on the curled tips of a young fern leaf. With its unique head shape, large compound eyes, and raptorial forelegs, the mantis is a skilled ambush predator, capable of striking prey with lightning-fast reflexes. Its delicate frame and intricate details contrast with the structured symmetry of the fern, creating a harmonious balance between insect and plant.
Perched gracefully on a blooming branch, two chestnut-tailed starling share a quiet, tender moment of togetherness. Their soft plumage glows under the natural light, blending hues of blue, grey, and chestnut against a vibrant floral backdrop. This frame captures not just the delicate beauty of wildlife, but the peaceful harmony that exists in nature — a silent connection between two souls amidst the blossoms.
Beside a massive cargo ship, a child swings from a mooring rope while another wades through the river. The scene contrasts industrial scale with childhood innocence, capturing a moment of play, resilience, and everyday life along Bangladesh’s working waterways.
In the quiet, misty hours of the morning, workers cross a wooden bridge with their day\'s labor balanced carefully above them. The fog strips away the noise of the world, leaving only the rhythm of their footsteps and the striking silhouettes of their silhouettes against the grey sky. It is a tribute to the quiet strength and balance of everyday life.
Brick kiln workers are an inseparable part of Bangladesh’s rural economy.
From dawn to dusk, they work tirelessly making, burning, and stacking bricks. Most of these workers are poor, and their livelihood depends on this seasonal occupation. Despite working in harsh conditions filled with dust, smoke, and extreme heat, they earn only a meager wage.
Captured during the first light of dawn in the Kotka range of the Sundarbans, Bangladesh, this image portrays a male Spotted Deer (Axis axis) standing amidst a dense thicket of pneumatophores (aerial roots). In the harsh and saline environment of the world\'s largest mangrove forest, these creatures have evolved a keen sense of alertness to survive alongside the Bengal Tiger.
The photograph captures a rare moment of stillness and \"majesty\" as the morning sun pierces through the canopy, illuminating the stag in a natural spotlight. The composition utilizes the surrounding forest as a soft, ethereal frame, emphasizing the animal\'s royal stature within its kingdom. This shot represents the fragile beauty of a unique ecosystem where life persists between the tides.
They spend the whole day rowing their boats with no place to return to and no home to rest in. When night comes the boat itself becomes their only shelter. To escape the mosquitoes they burn coils but the smoke and heat make the air heavy. The river water around them is filthy and filled with insects and swarms of aggressive mosquitoes that never seem to stop.
Life on these narrow wooden boats feels like a constant battle for survival. There is danger exhaustion and the risk of illness all around them yet their only goal is to stay alive. Even after such harsh nights they rise at dawn pick up their oars and return to work because their struggle is their everyday reality and their strength keeps them moving forward.
Against the rising tide of uncertainty and the crashing weight of life’s obstacles, hope remains rooted. These are not just trees, they are the stubborn reminders that even when the world feels like a mountain of water ready to break over us, we can choose to stand firm.
A lone porter moves quietly through a narrow station corridor, his silhouette framed between two dark walls. Behind him, a Bangladesh Railway train waits in stillness. The light and shadow create a powerful contrast—telling a story of hard work, routine, and the silent strength of ordinary people.
This image reminds me of the pure joy of childhood. It shows three young boys running with big bicycle tires, totally immersed in their play. The black-and-white tone gives it a timeless feel, like a moment frozen from the past. The motion blur adds so much energy you can almost hear the laughter and feel the wind as they run. It’s a beautiful reminder of how little it takes to be happy when you’re a kid.
This photograph captures a vibrant street-side display of handcrafted baskets and jute products arranged on a traditional wooden cart. It highlights the intricate textures and earthy tones of folk artistry, bridging the gap between rural craftsmanship and urban daily life.
In a room saturated with the deepest blue, a young madrasah boy sits in quiet contemplation. His blue panjabi mirrors the walls and the light filtering in, creating a unified world of indigo.
In a narrow corridor washed with darkness, an elderly man pauses beneath a small beam of light, counting his day’s earnings with worn, steady hands. His violet shirt catches the glow, revealing years of struggle etched into his beard and posture. Surrounded by movement yet standing alone, he becomes a quiet symbol of resilience—where dignity survives even in the dimmest corners, and humanity shines brightest when the world looks away.
– The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
– Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
– Only one strongest photo from each author is counted in the Best Photos ranking. Even if a photographer has several published works, only the highest-rated one is used to calculate their ranking position. As a result, the order of photos in the list may not match the author's final ranking position.
