Common kingfishers (Alcedo atthis) are sharp hunter of small fishes with perfect accuracy. The common kingfisher is also known as the Eurasian kingfisher and river kingfisher. It is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. This lovely kingfisher posed for us for portraits.
