Apo Whang-Od, the last mambabatok of the Kalinga tribe, rests after imprinting her ancestral art onto a visitor’s skin. At approximately 106 years old, in her hometown of Buscalan, Philippines, she continues to use citrus thorns and bamboo to perpetuate a millennia-old tradition symbolizing bravery, beauty, and connection to one’s roots. With each tattoo, she conveys not only the stories of her land but also a legacy she has passed on to new generations, ensuring the endurance of Kalinga culture. Her life and work are a testament to resilience, artistry, and pride in indigenous heritage.
The oud maker Sami Afifi works at his workshop located at street level in Downtown Cairo. He is considered one of the most skilled oud manufacturers in Egypt whose craft comes from a family tradition of over 100 years. While visiting him, he was kind enough to let me photograph him as he was working assembling the resonance box and the soundboard. The street was recently cleaned, a puddle of water in front of the workshop caught his reflection creating an aesthetic atmosphere of a singular craftsman at work.
Soaring into the sky, the Azadi Tower stands as a bridge between past and future. Its intricate geometry and sweeping curves frame the rhythm of city life below. A timeless symbol, where history and modernity converge.

Поэтому порядок фотографий в списке может не совпадать с итоговым положением автора в рейтинге.
– The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
– Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
– Only one strongest photo from each author is counted in the Best Photos ranking. Even if a photographer has several published works, only the highest-rated one is used to calculate their ranking position. As a result, the order of photos in the list may not match the author's final ranking position.
