The Spot-winged Thrush is a shy and beautifully patterned bird endemic to Sri Lanka. It inhabits cool, dense montane forests, often staying close to the forest floor. This thrush is recognized by its rich chestnut-brown upperparts, white-spotted wings, and pale underparts. It feeds mainly on insects and small invertebrates, foraging quietly among leaf litter. Due to its secretive nature, it is more often heard than seen, especially during the early morning hours.
