The World beyond It is a photographic project set in an apocalyptic scenario, a dystopian future in which our planet, now tired, old and the victim of epidemics, natural disasters, pollution has now ceased to be what we knew. The air is now unbreathable and it is quite difficult to survive. This photographic story is set in this scenario which sees two people as protagonists, a couple of young boys who try to survive in this hostile world full of pitfalls but poor in resources. The images want to represent a sort of story by expressing different emotional states that young people experience during their daily life. In this case exploring a new, abandoned and declining place to rest and refresh for some time in search of better accommodation along their path. The cut is purely cinematic above all for the particularity of the shots, plays of light and shadows, symmetries, depth and color grading that will be carried out during the editing phase. Two vintage gas masks (cold war style) will be used mainly to give an almost asphyxiated sense and difficulty in surviving in this scenario. On the masks, to be precise on the part where the filter should be mounted, small colored wildflowers will be applied to symbolize the desire to be reborn and survive of mankind. This choice in using these masks is symbolic and brings this dystopian future closer to our present. The chosen outfit is minimal precisely to express the scarcity of resources and goods available. The makeup will be almost absent and with a smudged effect especially to express sadness and despair.
