The last time I was able to photograph a ring-tailed cat in Mexico City was in 2018, on New year\'s eve to be precise (January 1st). Since then I hadn\'t had the fortune of running into these little guys, but fortunately where I live, they are kind of easy to spot near some burrows in my garden. After a few months of observing them from my kitchen window, I realized they were always active and outside the burrows between 9:30 and 10:00pm every night. Very punctual animals, like swiss clocks, and animals are creatures of habits. Sometimes the hardest part of making a great photograph is not the shooting part but what comes before, especially with wildlife: the studying and observing of your subject (always ethically and respectfully). And even when I had memorized their routines, it took me 10 nights and a mild cold to get this shot, as luck was not on my side until the most unexpected moment. I would still like to get a full body shot, but I\'m thinking that is going to take even more time. Meanwhile, here\'s a portait of the always cute and gorgeous ring-tailed cat.
