Male Color Portrait Discipline Guidelines
Male color portrait is a discipline that demands both technical mastery and psychological intuition from the photographer. Men are generally less inclined to pose, making the ability to build a trusting atmosphere and capture an authentic character the ultimate professional challenge.
The contest invites photographers who treat color as a full-fledged expressive tool. We are looking for images capable of conveying a person's destiny, emotionality, heroism, or talent. Palette and light should deliberately shape the mood and emphasize texture, revealing the subject's inner world rather than drawing attention to themselves.
Accepted:
- Color portraits of men (18+), where the subject occupies at least 2/3 of the frame and the color scheme works to reveal the character
- Images featuring a person of another gender, provided the man remains the unquestionable semantic and visual center
Not accepted:
- Nude or semi-nude imagery (nude, erotic content)
- Black-and-white, toned, or desaturated works
- Images where the man is not the main subject or gets lost in the surroundings
