Conceptual Minimalism Photography Contest Guidelines
Conceptual minimalism is the art of conveying complex ideas through the conciseness of form. While a concept is subjective, a successful photograph will still resonate with and be understood by the viewer. Within the realm of fine art photography, conceptual images can be quite abstract, and are therefore judged almost exclusively on their subjective and aesthetic qualities. In this category, photo manipulation is allowed, including adding, removing, or moving objects, adding extra graphic elements, and changing the background using graphic editing software. We are looking for works where the purity of composition and the freedom of digital processing work together to reveal a single, powerful idea.
Accepted:
- Works that combine a minimalist composition with a conceptual idea
- Photographs using photo manipulation and digital editing to enhance the artistic vision
Not accepted:
- Simple minimalist shots without a conceptual subtext
- Images with cluttered compositions
