Деревянный храм в селе Черневе существовал уже в XVI веке. Строительство каменного храма длилось с 1709 по 1722 год. В середине XIX века церковь была реконструирована.
В 1930-х годах службы в храме были прекращены безбожными властями, но здание оставалось нетронутым и в годы войны 1941—1945 годов.
В 1974 году храм внесён в списки памятников архитектуры, состоящих под охраной государства, но храм к тому времени оказался разграблен, так что не осталось и покрытия полов.
Возвращен Русской православной церкви в 1989 году. к тому времени не было ни куполов, ни кровли.
С лета 1994 года начались службы. 29 июля 1995 года храм был освящён.
The wooden church in the village of Chernev existed already in the XVI century. The construction of the stone temple lasted from 1709 to 1722. In the middle of the XIX century, the church was reconstructed.
In the 1930s, services in the church were stopped by the godless authorities, but the building remained intact during the war of 1941-1945.
In 1974, the temple was included in the list of monuments of architecture, which are under the protection of the state, but the temple was looted by that time, so that there was no floor covering left.
It was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1989. by that time there were no domes or roofs.
Since the summer of 1994, services have begun. On July 29, 1995, the church was consecrated.
