This photograph was captured on May 1 2026, at Meghalaya, India. I waited through the evening, hoping to capture the full moon rising above the distant Nohsngithiang Falls. But the weather seemed determined to conceal the landscape, with clouds and fog shrouding everything in sight. At around 7:30 PM, just as I was about to have dinner and retire for the night, the sky suddenly opened and the moon emerged, illuminating the heavens. The clouds, however, remained suspended over the landscape, creating a surreal boundary between the earth and sky— two realms briefly revealed beneath the same moon.
