The Old City of Hebron is one of the most historic areas in Palestine. It is home to the Ibrahimi Mosque and has been a center of religious, cultural, and commercial life for centuries. The narrow streets, stone houses, and traditional markets reflect a deep-rooted heritage that continues despite daily hardships.
The Ibrahimi Al-Khalil Soup Kitchen (Tkiyat Khalil Al-Rahman) is an old charitable tradition in Hebron, inspired by Prophet Ibrahim’s generosity. It provides free food to the poor and visitors, based on the belief that no one should go hungry in this city.
However, the people of Hebron suffer from arbitrary restrictions and unfair measures, including forced closures of shops, movement restrictions, and heavy military presence. These practices have severely affected daily life, livelihoods, and the economy of the Old City, yet its residents remain resilient and committed to preserving their land and identity.
