I’m Nastya, a travel photographer who doesn’t travel only to see new places, but also to find the photographs that sometimes exist in my head long before the journey begins.
I love studying maps, planning routes, looking for the right light, and sometimes travelling quite far for a photograph I imagined back home. A particular passion is aerial photography - a drone gives me much more freedom to explore different perspectives and see familiar landscapes in a completely different way.
Most of my photographs are taken at sunrise, with the occasional sunset thrown in. Sunrise sometimes means getting up at 3 or 4 a.m. - the one and only kind of morning activity I’m actually willing to wake up for😅 But when the light turns out to be perfect - and especially when there’s fog - the feeling of seeing the final result is twice as rewarding.
My travels have taken me across Southeast Asia, Europe and Africa, with many more places still waiting to be discovered. Slowly, they become part of my own map of the world - made of places, experiences and photographs.
Photography, first and foremost, is a way to preserve the places and moments that genuinely stay with me. And yes, I’m a bit of a perfectionist. If the light and the final result don’t feel quite right the first time, I have no problem returning to the same location a second, third, or even fourth time - until everything finally comes together😊
