Ready- Set- Go
The throat fan in males of Sitana ponticeriana is brilliantly colored with red, blue and dark shades during the breeding months. When running quickly they often adopt bi-pedal mode of locomotion. I shot this image at Chalkewadi in Satara district. I observed this male to repeat the path while patrolling his territory. This is the only lizard in India known to adopt bi-pedal locomotion. It took me three years to get this image the way I previsualized.

PALKHI FESTIVAL MAHARASHTRA
Palkhi festival showcases the distinctive feature of the Maharashtrian culture (India). Palkhi is a 1000 — year old tradition which was started by some saints of Maharashtra (India). and is still continued by their followers called as Varkaris (people who follow a Vari, a fundamental ritual). People collectively go singing and dancing, chanting Dnyanba-Tukaram in what are called as Dindis (organised group of Varkaris) to the holy town of Pandharpur (a small town in the district of Solapur) in Hindu months of Ashadh (June-July) and Karthik (November-December). The Palkhi starts in the month of Jyeshth (June) and the whole process lasts a total of 22 days. Every year on the eleventh day of the first half of the month of Ashadh, the Palkhi reaches Pandharpur. Every saint, right from Sant Dnyaneshwar to Sant Tukaram was following the Vari tradition. In the year 1685, Narayan baba, the youngest son of Tukaram was a man of innovative spirit and decided to bring about a change in the dindi-wari tradition by introducing the Palkhi, which is a sign of social respect. He put the silver padukas (footsteps) of Tukaram in the Palkhi and proceeded with his dindi to Alandi where he put the padukas of Dnyaneshwar in the same Palkhi. This tradition of twin Palkhis went on every year, but in 1830 there were some disputes in the family of Tukaram, concerned with rights and privileges. Following this, some thoughtful persons decided to break-up the tradition of twin Palkhis and organise here after, two separate Palkhis Tukaram Palkhi from Dehu (Pune Maharashta) and the Dnyaneshwar Palkhi from Alandi (Pune Maharashta). From that time till date, both the Palkhis meet in Pune for a brief halt and then diverge at Hadapsar to meet again at Wakhri, a village nearby to Pandharpur. In course of time, this tradition is becoming popular day by day. A total of approximately 2 lakh devotees proceed along with the Sant Tukaram Palkhi from Dehu village, while a total of 4 lakh devotees march along with the Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi from alandi village. At present a total of 43 Palkhis including the above two visit Pandharpur village every year. Thousands of people called ‘Varkari’ reach Pandharpur from Alandi or Dehu after walking for about 250kms in Aashad (a hindu month which coincides with June/ July) Ekadashi (11th day of the moon). They walk with palkhis (chariots) carrying paduka (sandals) of the saints singing sacred songs. Varkaris are a Hindu religion sect who workship Vithoba (or Vitthal), an incarnation of Krishna. Devotee chants the name of “Mauli Vittal” all the way & completes the yatra by feet on Ashadi Ekadashi at Pandharpur. Around 8 lakhs of warkaris flocked the city and their chants of “Ram Krishna Hari, jai jai Ram Krishna Hari” and Dnyanba-Tukaram (the famous Maharashtrian saints, Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram) reverberated on the streets. Harmony!!!
I was completely submerged in the back waters of Pulicat lake for almost 1 hour to get this eye level shot of Flamingos, where the Magic of Harmony begins they are beautiful when they walk in water; Greater Flamingos, wade in front of us with their curvy necks in the water. Long, pink legs convey them naturally; their necks bounce musically with each step they take. but they are something else when in flight It is a sight that has to be experienced, not just seen. This was made during my visit to Pulicat lake, India

White Flag
Someone said countries that prepare for war most certainly go to war. If you are preparing for war in any aspect of your life, it’s time to mentally raise the white flag, to step out from any mental barriers you created to protect yourself and to be vulnerable with Life. A white flag can stop a war, a white flag can wave peace throughout the humanity who are suffering from inner conflicts and violence. In this digital manipulation, I made my humble efforts to depict a little boy who is waving a white flag for peace and asking us to wave our flags too and come forward to make a better world.
Clash of Titans !
About Image : In the productive forest of Maharashtra (India) this year, we came upon dominant male tiger and half-hidden in the bushes was another sub-adult tiger, towards which huge male dominant began to move. Clearly the young one, still under two years had found himself in wrong place at wrong time. A territorial fight ensued. By the end of it, younger tiger submitted, but we saw dominant male bleeding. Despite the clash lasting for few minutes, the sub-adult humiliation was enough. Date Taken : February 2017 Place : Maharashtra / India

Please save me ( The last Call )
: When a frog cries for its life , this is a very obvious thought that a snake may got it . This art or style is catches by years . The day I was having my lunch and I heard the same sound which always attract people to look for the snake . Few times of searching I found that the Reptile (Amphiesma Stolatum ) is rushed from the upwards to have the frog ( Bull Frog ) . Immediately I had to catch the image of that incident cause it was a rarely event going on . So at that very moment I rushed to my home for grabbing my gear and it was too tough to take the shot because I want to take a closer shot but I have only 55-250 lens and the place is full of mud. The moment I was thinking of I would have a good position for the shot . Finally it gives me a position I could hardly have and the Born Instinct is in front of you .

Blackbucks in defending mood
The Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra), a graceful and slender antelope is found in the open forest and semi-desert plains throughout in India. Their heavily uneven, corkscrew-shaped, 18” (approx) horns and beautiful white ringed eyes acknowledged their beauty. Only adult males have the horns. The upper part of the adult males is dark brown while the under part is white. Usually, this antelope is quite in nature. They are found in herds containing 50 to 100 individuals. They graze during the day, even in hot season. Particularly, they are very active in the morning and evening. Sometimes, they take rest under the trees in hot weather. The combative behavior is expressed through ‘Head Up’, ‘Chasing at gallop’, ‘Head Down’, ‘Vegetation Thrashing’ and finally ‘Fight’. The fight of the Blackbucks can be of three different types: 1. Fights between Sub-adult and /or female Black-buck 2. Fights between the non-territorial males 3. Territorial fights between two adult Blackbucks Here, two male Blackbucks are in territorial fight which is widely related to their survival instinct. This fight leads to the capturing of territories for mating, and reproduction also. To end with, knowing of the Scientific Classification of Blackbuck is important. These are: General Name: Blackbuck Binomial name: Antilope cervicapra Phylum: Chordata Subphylum: Vertebrata Class: Mammalia Order: Artiodactyla Family: Bovidae Subfamily: Antilopinae Genus: Antilope Species: A. cervicapra

Russell’s Viper Mating
Russell’s Viper Mating.... This image was snapped in winter in the morning at Jayakwadi Bird Satuary. After having a birding settion, while roaming I spotted a Russell’s viper pair mating. Upon seeing the pair, I moved into the nearby bushes to make the most of the opportunity to click the duo. In order to not disturb and snap them, I remained silent for a few minutes and got this picture. It was really great to photograph the snakes as it happens to be one of the deadliest snakes in India and it was my first time to the snake in the wild.

Act of faith
The Banke-Bihari Temple in Vrindavan is one such place to enjoy the festivities as it hosts a week long Holi celebrations here. During these days, Bihariji is dressed up in white coloured clothes and it is brought closer to his devotees to play holi. Vrindavan Holi is played with coloured water and gulal, a form of colour made using organic substances like flowers and kesar. Goswamis sprinkle colors on everyone. The whole atmosphere is made even more lively with music (bhajans) in the background and people dance to the tunes while enjoying the colors.

Innocence
Durga is a 5 year old orphan girl. Durga's father left home before her birth and mother died when she was 2 months old. She is living with her 75 year's old grandmother and physically challenged maternal uncle who are living under below poverty line. Every day they are struggling to provide food and education to her. Now she is studying UKG with the help of a sponsor. The Inline statement is very difficult for them to give her a good life. Close-up shot of a cute girl with innocence expression, I like the blurred foreground with the crisp eyes in the background and Swing for the unusual angle of the picture.
Interstellar
I made this image during a star gazing project with my colleagues,as we were busy shooting stars I heard a distant sound from leaf litters, which reminded me of one particular gecko i.e Geckoella collegalensis and there I was after a little search I was able to spot it in the dark and bunch of leafs. The name of gecko is collegal ground gecko. Sometimes it is possible to spot one with naked eye but not every time, because of pattern and color similar to surrounding habitat,Just after finding this little creature I thought why not to combine 2 genre in one Image so the perspective came of capturing a gecko with milky way. I used multiple image function in the camera itself which helped me to get what i was willing to & my also motive behind making this image was to get astro and wildlife photography together.

Morning over the Yamuna ghats.
A morning scene from the banks of river Yamuna, the banks in the local language are called Ghats. The Yamuna is one of the holiest rivers of India and also one of the polluted. Despite of the pollution it is worshiped by millions. Here a man adjusts his clothes after a dip in the river. Interestingly this part of the year many migratory birds visit the place and are generously fed by the locals in hope that they bring good luck.
