HVT
This photo was taken in mid-winter 2018 in New Zealand. It's located on the hiking trail called 'Hooker Valley Track', which is in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The hike is 5 kilometers (3.1 mile) in length, and is one of the most popular day hikes in this National Park.
HVT was taken on my very first time hiking there, and since then I have tried to recreate the beauty I saw the first day. However, nothing could be as special as the first time. I eventually learned that the river is only blue during winter time, because during summer the glacier run off and silt turns the water brown and less clear. At the end of day, I am happy to have left with this absolutely breathtaking photo.
