oriental dwarf kingfisher
Monsoon visitor in Indian western ghat region..
I was fasinate to photograph this bird closely due to attractive colors. 10 day I was monitoring habits and regular behavior of this bird and finally I got to know the timings of this bird and the comman perch. I set up my canera and waited for him to arrive, after wait of 2 hour he came on the same perch and I got this beauty.
A bit techinical challange was the subject is very very sensitive to any kind of movement and i wanted to pohotograph it with minimal distance possible.
I had set my equipment around 6 feets distance from the perch and I had to wait for it till it comes on same perch, any kind of movement was impossible so I was still like a statue.
Other issue was it was rainy day so I had covered equipment with raincoat and I was under rain.
Lighting issue was the biggest hurdle so I choose to shoot at higher ISO level and minimal shutter speed.
