During a field visit, I found a ball of Platystomatid flies on a leaf. After a close observation, I understood that there was actually a mass of bird poop on the leaf and it was Fully covered by a hungry group of Platystomatids. These signal flies were absorbing nutrients from the poop. Along with the signal flies there was also another fly family which I am unable to identify. Meanwhile, I also observed that some male signal flies were performing courtship dance in front of a group of females. The males were actually maximizing their chances of getting selected for mating as a bunch of females were present together.
