Location of the dive: Indonesia - North Sulawesi - Lembeh Strait:
during a night dive called \"Black water\" I had the opportunity to encounter a Tunicate salp about 5 cm. inside and outside was full of many animals such as crabs and shrimps and more, I was at a depth of about 10 meters on a depth between 60 and 100 meters.
Inside the Tunicate salp is a box fish in juvenile form, some very small flatworms in juvenile form, then some larval Squilla mantis, some heteropods, and several animals that I cannot determine,
then outside there are 2 brown juvenile crabs, 4 crabs in transparent larval form, and several transparent shrimps in larval form, I can also see 2 lobster larvae of different sizes.
In a distant galaxy, the Mother World dominates and imposes its power with arrogance and deceit. Everything is crushed and destroyed except hope. Kora, daughter of fire and wind, guilty of a crime she did not commit and betrayed by what she once called "family", is forced to flee. She reaches a new World, initially hostile and distant from her own. She will have to adapt, mastering her warrior instincts, full of revenge and hatred. Little by little she will learn to love, living in harmony with nature. She will find a home, friends and something to fight for, defending what she can finally call "family".
This photo was taken in Tokyo, Japan in August 2024 at night walking through the streets of the Shibuya district, it represents the driving force of work where the human being loses all identity by transforming himself into work itself
The development of Artificial Intelligence represents the most important innovation of this century. Cyber thinking has an exciting potential, so much so that it can be applied to every area of human life, but its sudden growth could present us with new challenges. Will ethical and social values really be preserved by this spasmodic technological advancement?
What will we be willing to give up to gain control over the most important force that will govern man?
In order to discover \"the other\" it is necessary to learn to know him, to connect with him. Communication is the weapon we possess to be able to understand what is still unknown to us. Being able to dialogue with AI will allow man to discover the difference between those who have a soul and those who do not.
The project aims to focus on the ambivalence that Artificial Intelligence can represent. Is it really a tool that can lead to the destruction of the human race? Or is it our true key to salvation? The only certainty is that it was man who created it...
The Colle del Nivolet is an alpine pass located in the Graian Alps, a watershed between the Valle dell\'Orco and Valsavarenche, located within the protected area of the Gran Paradiso National Park to the west of the massif of the same name, not far from the Italian-French border to the west...
The Lucanian hills reveal themselves in all their primordial charm, with soft profiles that follow one another like waves. The fields, worked by man and sculpted by time, create a play of textures and shades, from gold to pale green. At the center of the scene, a solitary rural structure emerges, a silent symbol of an ancient bond with the land. This photograph captures the essence of the quiet and authentic beauty of a timeless Italian landscape.
This photograph captures the mesmerising symmetry of a hairpin curve in the heart of a mountain pass under a vast night sky. Centred perfectly, the road sweeps in from the right, gracefully navigating the turn, and ascends out of the frame on the left. The scene is brought to life by the trails of car lights, painting the path with vibrant streaks of red and white, creating a dynamic contrast against the serene backdrop.
Above, the sky is adorned with a captivating star trail, a celestial ballet that mirrors the movement below. The silhouettes of towering mountains stand as silent witnesses to this interplay of light and motion, adding depth and drama to the composition.
In this visual symphony, everything is in motion; the earth and sky are alive with energy and change. Yet, amidst this dynamic scene, there is a call for stillness. The observer, finding their own balance point, becomes the anchor in this harmonious dance of light and time. This photograph is a testament to the ever-evolving beauty of our world, where, even in constant flux, there is a sense of unity and equilibrium.
The "Tales from the Loop" series was shot in November 2024 during my stay in Chicago's Downtown district called "the Loop". I wanted to describe all the different peculiarities of the district using my camera. In this series I took shots with wide-angle and fisheye lenses. Almost all the pictures were in black and white with high contrast in the scene, Only two pictures were shot in color to emphasize the atmosphere and to recreate the mood of that peculiar moments, especially in the shot with yellow road markings that was creating a natural huge color contrast.
These cute little mice are a joy to observe while they explore their surroundings and love to climb on flowers and branches to have a better view of the area.
\"In the heart of the nest, a young grey heron looks curiously into the photographer\'s eyes. This moment captures the intimate and fragile connection between man and nature, revealing the vulnerability and innocence of wildlife at the beginning of its journey. A rare and precious encounter, immortalized in a shot that celebrates the wonder of the kingdom.\"
I had been waiting for this photograph for several years... after two consecutive trips to Castelluccio, during flowering (one of the most magical moments of this place) I managed to find the right condition... everything was perfect
The striking Turret Arch in Arches National Park, Utah, stands proudly beneath a sky full of wonders.
The Milky Way stretches its glowing arc above the rugged landscape, while meteors showers – Eta Aquarids and the Capricornids – paint the night with their brilliant trails.
A perfect meeting of Earth’s ancient beauty and the endless wonder of the cosmos. When the desert dresses in stars, magic is inevitable.
Close up of Flabellina affinis. It feeds exclusively on hydrozoans of the Eudendrium genus (Eudendrium glomeratum, Eudendrium racemosum, Eudendrium ramosum), whose stinging cells it uses for defense, after having stored them in the cerata ( the orange appendages clearly visible in this photo) of the digestive system. Photo taken in June 2024 using macro lens 100 mm and two strobes TTL.
Captured in Piazza Città di Lombardia, Milan, this image showcases a steel and glass atrium resembling a blooming flower. I composed the shot to recreate the calyx of a tulip, using the architecture as a tool to bring my vision to life. Symmetry and reflections highlight its modern elegance.
This shot was made during 2024 in the public space of a famous building in Milan. The shot was taken thinking about the curvy geometry that are creating the calyx of a tulip if looked using a wide angle lens
Under a starry night, the majestic Drago Vaia emerges from the darkness, its wooden form illuminated by the faint glow of the stars. Crafted from the remnants of the devastating Vaia storm, this sculpture stands as a symbol of resilience and rebirth. In the silence of the night, its presence feels almost alive—a guardian forged from nature’s fury, now watching over the mountains.
It was a cloudy afternoon with quite uncertain weather at Passo Giau, but precisely that uncertainty and variability created the atmosphere I was looking for.
The aerial image of Amelia, one of the most ancient Roman towns in Italy, captures the town bathed in the moody glow of a sunset. The soft, golden light of the setting sun gently illuminates the ancient stone buildings, casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets. The town's historic architecture, with its narrow winding roads and Roman ruins, contrasts beautifully with the warm, fading light. In the distance, the rolling hills of Umbria provide a dramatic backdrop, their silhouette softened by the dusk. The overall mood is one of quiet reverence and timelessness, as if the town itself is holding onto centuries of history beneath the quiet, descending night.
The tranquility of the street and the promise of imminent joy. A moment suspended in time, transforming a simple afternoon into an unforgettable celebration.

Beautiful little owlets from Irkaya Farm in Qatar.
The little owl (Athene noctua), also known as the owl of Athena or owl of Minerva, is a bird that inhabits much of the temperate and warmer parts of Europe, the Palearctic east to Korea, and North Africa. It was introduced into Britain at the end of the 19th century and into the South Island of New Zealand in the early 20th century.
This owl is a member of the typical or true owl family Strigidae, which contains most species of owl, the other grouping being the barn owls, Tytonidae. It is a small (approx. 22 cm long), cryptically coloured, mainly nocturnal species and is found in a range of habitats including farmland, woodland fringes, steppes and semi-deserts. It feeds on insects, earthworms, other invertebrates and small vertebrates. Males hold territories which they defend against intruders. This owl is a cavity nester and a clutch of about four eggs is laid in spring. The female does the incubation and the male brings food to the nest, first for the female and later for the newly hatched young. As the chicks grow, both parents hunt and bring them food, and the chicks leave the nest at about seven weeks of age.
Being a common species with a wide range and large total population, the International Union for Conservation of Nature has assessed its conservation status as "least concern".
When I planned my first trip in Iceland, the first point I marked on the map was Stokksnes because my greatest wish was to see the Aurora dancing on Mount Vestrahorn. It wasn\'t a long trip, just four nights, the second night I booked a cottage in Hofn with the hope that it would be the right night. Getting to Stokksnes in two days, considering the various intermediate stops, and then going back in the following two days, was a bit stressful, I wasn\'t able to enjoy the whole outward journey, because the fixed thought was always there. Fate wanted to reward my determination, it wasn\'t a memorable Aurora, also because it came out around at the blue hour, but the wish was granted and the emotion indescribable.
The project, commissioned to star architect Santiago Calatrava by the municipality of Reggio Emilia, sees the three bridges as a distinctive sign for the redevelopment of the entire area north of the city. The complete architectural ensemble - which takes the name of Le Vele - includes, in addition to the aforementioned bridges, also the futuristic wave covering of the A1 motorway toll booth and the construction of the high-speed railway station which takes the name of Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana.
what's under my skin? scars, cracks brought by life experiences. in this project i covered the model Stefania to create a sort of very delicate cracked clay skin that lets you glimpse the subject.
In the splendid setting of Piazza del Campo in Siena, two spouses exchange deep glances, surrounded by a play of light and shadow that gives the moment a cinematic elegance. The Neorealist style atmosphere makes every gesture a refined hymn to love, transforming the moment into pure visual poetry.
I took this photo in the incense village of Quang Phu Cau, Vietnam, last April, when I was there on holiday. The incense is left to dry in bunches and has a deep red colour. Even though it was a cloudy day and it was raining a little, I managed to climb to a point high enough to compose the shot.
This image evokes the pictorial genre of "vanitas", popular in 17th century baroque art. Vanitas were allegorical still lifes that recalled the fleeting nature of life and the vanity of earthly pleasures. In this modern composition, we find classic elements of the vanitas reinterpreted: 1. The passing of time: represented by the hourglass and the burning candle. 2. Ephemeral pleasures: symbolized by fruit (grapes and apples), which allude to the senses of taste and smell. 3. Knowledge: evoked by ancient books, which suggest the search for wisdom. 4. Material wealth: indicated by the decorative vase and gold chain. 5. Chance and destiny: suggested by the visible dice. The atmosphere is dark and meditative, with a soft light that creates a strong chiaroscuro, typical of baroque still lifes. The smoke from the freshly blown out candle adds an element of movement and transience to the scene. The balanced composition and attention to detail invite the observer to reflect on the passage of time, on the ephemeral nature of earthly pleasures and on the deeper meaning of existence, central themes in classic vanitas, here proposed in a contemporary key.
A cozy yellow house stands as a beacon of warmth and life, nestled between the gray majesty of a towering mountain and the leaden sky. A symbol of resilience and beauty in a world ruled by shadows.
Standing still on his two wheels, the cyclist seems to merge with the landscape, staring at the horizon, perhaps mentally retracing the roads he has just traveled.
On the wooden pier, like a sentinel, he observes the flat sea. His solitary figure, in contrast with the immensity, conveys a sense of profound tranquility.
He, a tired traveler, finds refuge in the silence of the sea.
This photograph captures an intense moment during a basketball game between Olimpia Mosciano and Torre Dè Passeri. At the center of the image, Lorenzo Valentini, a player for Olimpia Mosciano, is caught in an athletic move, with his right arm stretched upwards and his eyes focused on the ball. His opponent, on the right, is equally determined, reaching up with his left arm to contest the ball. The action is perfectly frozen, highlighting the tension and energy of the moment.
In the blurred background, other players and a referee can be seen, with the referee's focused stance emphasizing his role in the game. The scene takes place inside the Palazzetto dello Sport in Mosciano Sant'Angelo (TE), where the wooden panels and warm lighting accentuate the vibrant colors of the uniforms and the intensity of the clash. The image tells a story of competition and passion for the sport, with a particular focus on the physicality and dynamics of the game.
This is the story of Mary. A sad story like many, which took place in a theater of war. We are in a small village, not far from Rome, where Maria leads her normal family's life, Sant'Oreste. But the war deprived her of her husband, who died on the front, and of her house, seized by the German troops, who established a command center in Soratte. Maria understands that to protect herself and her loved ones she is forced to give in to the Field Marshal's flattery. The result is a relationship of subjection and obedience, which quickly leads to drugs and alcohol abuse. Maria doesn't recognize herself and suffers a lot, she hopes that the hierarch will leave her alone and no longer torment her. With the landing at Anzio, the German troops fled northern, and their nightmare seemed to end, but unfortunately this was not the case. This time it is a sergeant from the US contingent who tries to seduce her, because now American troops are occupying the Soratte Bunker. Mary is beautiful and her beauty is also her condemnation. She falls into a form of depression, taken by several moments of discouragement, and is no longer able to glimpse a future. As if he wanted it, as a release, shortly thereafter, he dies in a car accident... She will ascend to heaven and be welcomed by angels, and will finally find eternal peace.
Three labrador retriever puppies from my farm. The blue background is reminiscent of the sky and is a symbol of soul and purity. The puppies must be accustomed to this position from an early age in order to be able to take them all together. The light is natural I closed the diaphragm sufficiently to make them clear together.
– The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
– Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
– Only one strongest photo from each author is counted in the Best Photos ranking. Even if a photographer has several published works, only the highest-rated one is used to calculate their ranking position.
