The Nyangatom also known as Donyiro and pejoratively as Bumé are Nilotic agro-pastoralists inhabiting the border of southwestern Ethiopia and southeastern South Sudan and in the Ilemi Triangle with populations residing in both countries. They speak the Nyangatom language.
In the course of their early migration from Uganda, the pastoral ancestors of the Nyangatom had been scorned as ''Elephant-eaters'' (Nyam-etom), a nickname which they aptly transformed into ''Yellow Guns'' (Nyang-atom), that underlined the martial intentions of their emerging community.
The Nyangatom are linguistically and ethnically closely related to the Toposa. A century ago, both tribes were known as ''Hum'' or ''Kum''. A name that still survives is '' Bume'' - the Ethiopian name of the Nyangatom.
Last year, when I was in the Griechenland region for photography, I got to take a close-up photo of this beautiful bird. It is not usually easy to take close-up photos of these birds. However, I consider this photo a rare opportunity.

Quiver Tree Hills, Kanaan Retreat, May 2024, Namibia
I found a bunch of quiver trees on top of the mountain and it wasn't an easy task to climb closer to the them. Despite the big stones and the danger of venomous species like snakes and scorpions hiding under the stones I wanted to reach one of the trees anyway. It was growing on the steep slope so I had some difficulties to level my tripod and the gear. But for the sake of the composition I had to do this. It was just a perfect moment when Orion was about to set and the arch stretches all the way to the queen of the southern sky - Gum Nebula.

As a mountaineer and hiker not a big deal to arrive at this so famous spot world wide.But the magic is the sunset there.Stunning view always in every single weather condition but all changes when the first rays comes around and hits the uncountable mountain peaks.A beautiful calmness and peace and a bunch of creepy feeling also ,looking in the distance seeing the play of light and shadow.Leaving this point and relaxing near by with a small breakfast wich I brought from home.A really unique mountain range and formation...wich is spread out in all the region here...typical Dolomites!
His secret
Henry, a young dachshund and I were walking in a beautiful area. We found a spot ferns and Henry sat down in the middle of it. His gaze wandered and one direction magically attracted his attention. Whatever Henry\'s eyes saw remained hidden from mine and so this will forever remain Henry\'s secret.
Even before sunrise, the wild horses graze on the slopes of the Pyrenees to chew on the young shoots of the bushes and the first tender blades of grass. There is still hoarfrost on the leaves. It will be a cold autumn day.
For a long time, I had my eye on this hallway, constantly passing by in the hope that the sun would be in the perfect position and someone would walk up the hallway.
That day, everything aligned.
The sun was shining and perfectly positioned to create strong backlight, and then a child ran up the hallway, clearly eager to get home quickly.
This is Nancy. Nancy has experienced some pretty cruel and bad things in her life. That changed, when she was adopted by a lovely German woman, who then started to work a lot with Nancy. Some years later Nancy became a completely different dogs and lost her fear of humans. Nancy to me is a perfect example of what a difference love and and a safe place can do.

Due to the geothermal activity there is a lot of vapor in this area, which adds to the otherworldly feeling.
The wide beach of St. Peter Ording on the German North Sea coast is very well-known and popular and is usually full of visitors. In the early morning, however, it is often deserted and that is the best time for me to photograph there. On this morning last September, the fog was slowly lifting, the sun had just risen and the light was falling sideways onto the sand ripples. Their structure could not have been more beautifully emphasized.
Everything is a traveler. Everyone who has completed their time, day, and hour moves on. After a brief rest, the journey continues. Whoever comes, goes!
