The flight of the Queen
After several days of snowfall and heavy rain, a cold but sunny day dawned. We had planned to approach the territory of the eagles in some mountains near my city, Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country. We reached the mountain early in the morning, after sunrise. After going up and hiding in the hide, the wait began with the uncertainty of whether the pair of golden eagles that dominate that area would come. An hour later the male in the photo arrived. Immediately the female arrived. The day was sunny and the light was too harsh, but we were extremely fortunate that a thick fog began to rise from the valley, softening the background and shading the light, giving the image a cold winter atmosphere and making the queen stand out from the background.
