Hong Kong Solo
Loneliness can develop into a life-threatening condition.
"Hong Kong Solo" is the continuation of a project I started in Tokyo with "Progetto Hebi", a self-financed docu-fiction that I shot in 2014, in which I analyzed the solitude of the inhabitants of Tokyo.
It can be difficult to form or sustain relationships in Hong Kong.
Loneliness is a growing problem in developing cities all over the world. It is difficult for the overworked to develop quality relationships. Or as a result, they may feel isolated or disconnected from the rest of society.
The choice of Hong Kong, compared to other large metropolises of the East, was dictated by a purely aesthetic reason. Not only women and men, but also the atmosphere, the buildings, the streets and the great Kowloon Bay express their loneliness simply by showing themselves to the world.
"Hong Kong Solo" is therefore my personal attempt to show how the absurdity of overproduction, excess and overload can lead to extreme loneliness.
