About
We are looking for photographs that convey the authentic beauty and grandeur of winter nature—in its scale, silence, and pristine purity. The central subject must be a snow-covered landscape: snow-blanketed mountain ranges, frozen seashores, endless plains, snow-laden forests, Arctic expanses, or snowy plateaus.
The photograph should express the mood of winter—whether it’s the soft light of dawn over snowdrifts, the crisp clarity of midday sun, the golden hues of sunset on snow, or the mysterious depth of a night landscape beneath stars or the aurora borealis.
Particular value is placed on images captured in harsh climatic conditions—from high mountain regions to subpolar zones, from blizzards to crystal-clear, frosty days.
Accepted:
- Photographs in which the snow-covered landscape is the central and dominant compositional element.
- Images that convey the scale, depth, and atmosphere of winter space (including sky, horizon, or perspective).
- Works captured during daytime, morning, evening, or night under natural lighting.
Not accepted:
- Photographs where the main focus is on individual natural elements (e.g., flowers, branches, tree trunks, grass, ice crystals, close-ups of snowflakes, etc.).
- Images emphasizing architecture, machinery, people, or animals.
- Photos lacking snow or where snow does not play a key visual role.
- Excessive post-processing: artificially added people, altered proportions, or filters that distort reality.
