Still Life with Vegetables Photography Category Guidelines
Still Life with Vegetables is a photography genre where the presence of vegetables is mandatory (in the culinary sense: tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, peppers, root vegetables, cabbage, onions, garlic, and other crops).
Frames may include dishes, textiles, spices, herbs, or kitchen utensils, but vegetables must be an integral part of the composition and contribute to the overall concept of the image.
The main criterion is a well-composed authorial composition where each object serves the overall concept.
Accepted:
li>Meaningful still lifes with the mandatory presence of vegetables in the frame.
- Food photography of prepared dishes if the original vegetable is easily recognizable (for example, baked pumpkin slices, grilled vegetables, stuffed peppers).
Not accepted:
- Random or reportage shots of markets, garden beds, and counters without authorial composition.
- Works without vegetables, or where they are lost against the background of fruits, berries, or flowers.
- Dishes where the vegetable has completely lost visual recognizability (mashed potatoes, soups, homogeneous casseroles, sauces).
