View from the Window Photography Contest Guidelines
A window is not just an architectural opening, but a meaningful boundary that defines the point of observation and sets the rhythm of interaction between inner and outer worlds. In photography, a view from the window becomes a storytelling tool, allowing you to build multi-layered compositions, control the depth of field, and convey atmosphere through the contrast of private and public, static and dynamic. The contest focuses on the creative and technical aspects of shooting: working with multi-layered perspective, balancing exposure between interior and street, using natural light, reflections on glass, and depth of field. We expect works demonstrating conscious interaction of space and shooting point, whether it's the poetry of everyday life, the drama of weather, the abstraction of forms behind glass, or an emotional self-portrait through the prism of a window.
Accepted:
- Shots where the window frame is visible and is part of the composition
- Works where the view through the window acts as a key compositional element: forms a frame, depth, contrast, or serves as the basis of the plot
Not Accepted:
- Shots where the window frame is absent or completely eliminated by cropping
- Shots where the window is present by chance, serves only as a technical crop without meaningful load
