Cosplay Photography Contest Guidelines and Rules
There are countless looks in the world of cosplay, and for a photographer, this means an endless field for visual experiments. Cosplay is the art of embodying characters from games, movies, and comics through meticulously recreated costumes and makeup. Here, every detail becomes part of the story, opening unique opportunities for composition and light. The texture of fabrics, plastics, and props, the expressiveness of poses and gaze — all this challenges the ability to reveal the essence of the character. The "Cosplay" contest invites you to capture not just the costume, but the embodiment — to convey the spirit of the original, the emotion, and the presence of the heroes as full-fledged visual images in the frame. In this contest, image manipulation is permitted, including adding, removing, or moving objects, incorporating additional graphic elements, and altering backgrounds using graphic editing software.
Accepted:
- The cosplayer in character must be the central visual and semantic subject of the shot
- Deep digital editing is permitted, including compositing, background replacement, and adding, removing, or moving objects and graphic elements
Not Accepted:
- Photos without a costume or in everyday clothing (including simple portraits, street style, etc.).
