About
A newborn is a unique subject, requiring the photographer to possess not only artistic vision but also a deep understanding of the specifics of the neonatal period. This is a genre where aesthetics are inextricably linked with safety, and composition relies on fragility, natural plasticity, and the subtle micro-expressions of the first days of life.
We seek images demonstrating a high level of mastery in lighting and posing. Priority is given to shots conveying the depth of sleep, natural poses, details (hands, feet, profile), and the emotional connection with parents, without excessive theatricality.
The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is the first 5–14 days of life (maximum up to 3 weeks).
Accepted:
- Photographs of infants aged 0 to 21 days (the early newborn stage)
- Images where the newborn is the absolute compositional center (partial presence of parents is allowed for scale or context)
Not Accepted:
- Photographs of infants older than 21 days (babies confidently holding their heads, smiling older infants)
