About
The “Human and Animal” competition is dedicated to the interaction between people and animals—regardless of whether the animal is domesticated or not.
This may include pets, farm animals, or wild creatures—birds, reptiles, amphibians, and any other representatives of the animal kingdom—with whom a person shares visual or physical contact. The essential requirement is a clearly expressed connection in the frame: conveyed through a gaze, gesture, shared action, emotion, or even silent coexistence.
We value sincerity and depth: even if the scene is staged, it must convey a living bond—where the human and the animal are truly “together,” not merely side by side.
Accepted:
- Photographs in which a person (of any age) and an animal—including birds, reptiles, amphibians, and other members of the fauna—whether domestic, farm, or wild, are the central and equally important subjects of the image
- Works created in any setting: studio, interior, street, nature—location is not restricted
Not accepted:
- Images depicting cruel or degrading treatment of animals
- Photos showing an animal attacking a person—with visible injuries or aggressive intent to cause harm
- Images where both a person and an animal appear in the frame but show no connection between them
