Recently, I was invited to do curatorial work in a traditional fishing community in my region. Initially, I would only be responsible for producing the texts for the exhibition of the photoceramics that would be produced. And that were released in an exhibition on 03/31/2023.
However, I had already thought about documenting this community, where I have been working on an ethnography for 7 years. The camera was borrowed by a friend for just 3 days. And it even earned me an award.
The result delighted me. I always wanted to photograph, as I said above, to tell stories through images
The photos I took on the beach with the traditional community of artisanal trawlers in Itaipu are in this exhibition.
That made the news in the local paper.
Many friends encouraged me to continue the work and proposal I had made with the images. I named it the Fishing Gesture Inventory. Accessible on IG @inventariogestualidadesdapesca.
