The first epoch is the time when the bridge was built. In the time of the Turks, at the place where the bridge was later set up, on the narrowest part of the Drina, passengers were transported by a ferry driven by the always grumpy, slow scaffolder Jamak. When one day in November, the Turks took a tribute in blood from paradise, the first thought of building a bridge appeared. In the group of boys they took away, a boy from the village of Sokolovići had a black stripe. He thought that instead of a heavy, black scaffolding that transported passengers, a bridge could be built on that place. Although he changed his name, religion, life, homeland, he did not forget about the black scaffolding. That boy became Vizier Mehmed Pasha Sokolovic.
