Returning from hunting in the jungle, the chief Korowai, brandishing a bow and arrows, waits for his wife at the end of a tree trunk used a few moments earlier as a bridge to cross the river that flows not far from the village. His eyes are proud and he is ready to show me his hunting trophies. The Korowai are a hunter and gatherer tribe, discovered around 1974, which lives isolated in primitive living conditions, in a remote area of the jungle of Indonesian Papua, on the border with Papua New Guinea, but nowedays they are in danger of extinction.
