Today the anguish and insecurity is much greater for people who are in legal limbo caught in the process of their asylum or refugee claim, while this new invisible enemy for human life spreads, anywhere and at any time.
The works, Anonymous; Passport; Identity mutations and Introspection, belong to the series, Puzzles (Rompe Cabezas), in which I intend to show the feelings of these people, their anxieties and the psychological conflict, derived from insecurity regarding the future of their lives and that of their loved ones.
The passport-type photographs that I use in the Puzzles Series, are of emigrants that flee from their countries because they are in great danger.
It is possible that most of them will be accepted as refugees for an indefinite time, others only temporarily and the most unfortunate will be deported to their countries of origin. They often tell me their stories, many of them totally heartbreaking.
I use different facial disorientation techniques, especially for children who experience these tragedies.
