Babughat (Baboo Rajchandraghat) is one of the many ghats(a term used in the Indian subcontinent, such as a bathing or cremation place along the banks of a river or pond) built during British Raj, along the river bank of Hooghly on its bank on Strand Road at Kolkata side. It is second oldest ghat of Kolkata. Here old Kolkata meet with new Kolkata, you can see some Layers. Current Kolkata - other side sky high buildings, One of them is the administrative building of West Bengal, “Nabanna”(twin building). The reason of the rise of Kolkata - The British made Kolkata the capital for ease of trading on the water route, the old jetties are still there & for the last eternity, one side of the river bank is parallel from old days.
