Whilst travelling through the wilderness of Wilpattu National Park, our expedition halted for a moment after observing an unusual place filled with colourful butterflies. Having looked around, I was amazed by seeing this fascinating duo of Chameleons for the first time in my life.

On a broad, beautiful creeper, the male was chasing the female towards the gathering of butterflies, facing exactly my direction.

I decided that I had to capture this enchanting behaviour of the enigmatic beauties to share my experience with you, before they disappear from the sighting where the ideal conditions were opted for photographing in that sunny morning.

I was in the jeep at a distance of 50m away from the scene and captured them in different angles by moving into various corners of the jeep. I love this open mouth view of the female with magical straight looking eyes.
