Memory in the Ruins
This photograph was taken years ago in Iran, in a place shaped by layers of time and erosion. At the base of the frame, the remains of structures suggest what once existed, now reduced to traces of memory and absence.
Above them, two distant figures move along a narrow path, separated by space yet connected through their shared progression. The landscape becomes a quiet meeting point between what is left behind and what continues forward.
Returning to this image today, I no longer see it only as a record of a place, but as a reflection on how memory persists within changing circumstances. It speaks to the quiet tension between endurance and fragility, and to the way human presence always moves between what has been lost and what is still unfolding.
