Bláhylur — the “Blue Crater Lake.”
Formed nearly 1,200 years ago by the power of a volcano, it now rests like a quiet eye of the Earth — a true miracle of fire and water. Reaching this place was no easy task — a steep hike up, strong winds, and drifting fog that revealed the lake for just a few fleeting seconds.
One of the absolute highlights of my Iceland trip — raw, wild, and unforgettable.
