Diwan Bahauddinbhai Mausoleum, Junagadh (1886 AD)
During the 19th century, Bahauddinbhai Maqbara was built over the grave of
Sheikh Mohammad Bahauddinbhai (Birth: 1835 AD, Died: 1914 AD) who served as Diwan in Junagadh during the time of Babi Nawab.
Wazir-e-Azam Osuku Mire E.S. This mausoleum was built in 1896 under the supervision of Sheikh Mohammad Hafizuddin.
This Bahauddinbhai mausoleum reflects the magnificence of Vastu architecture during the Babi dynasty. The architectural style and carvings of
the mausoleum show a fusion of Islamic as well as Hindu art. Finely carved arches, lattices made of marble stone, elaborately decorated rice paddies,
round domes on the top and small domes in the four corners of the roof enhance
the decoration of the mausoleum. In addition, the mausoleum has ornate
minarets at all four corners and spiral staircases to climb up. The inscription on the main gate of Diwan Bahauddinbhai Mausoleum adds to
the beauty of its architectural style
