Aldeia Apiwtxa, March 2023, a Kayapo ethnic warrior and political leader named Flechas Kawatum (54 years old) pictured during a cultural exchange that took place in March 2023, which brought a delegation from the Kayapo people of Mato Grosso to visit the Apiwtxa village, to learn first-hand about the forest management and reforestation work and the daily life of the Ashaninka people in this indigenous reserve. Bracelets and belts made of glass beads and nylon thread by Kayapó women artisans are a feature of this ethnic group. They usually reproduce elaborate and mysterious geometric patterns, but in this case I was struck to see that some indigenous Kayapo chiefs wore these ornaments with reproductions of logos of well-known fashion brands, because they liked them. Even in such remote areas of the planet, globalisation has crept in among the traditional populations.
