Aerial Fishing Nets Vietnam

These images show aerial views of fishing boats deploying large circular nets in the open sea. The nets, often green or translucent, spread out in wide, fan-like patterns from the center of the vessel, creating strong geometric shapes against the dark blue water. Photographers are drawn to this scene because of the striking contrast between the vibrant net and the deep sea, as well as the dynamic, flower-like or leaf-like forms created by the net’s movement. The shots are taken from directly above, emphasizing scale and pattern, and are typically captured during daylight hours in coastal waters of Vietnam, a region known for its traditional fishing practices. What unites the group is the recurring visual motif of the expanding net from an overhead perspective.
