This photo was taken in the mangroves of Jardines de la Reina, Cuba. An American crocodile, about 2.5 meters long, was among the mangrove roots stalking hutias (small rodents similar to large rats). I entered the water to capture some images while it was stalking its prey, but it seemed very curious about my presence and ended up very close to me, giving me the opportunity to capture some unique images.

The Luxury of Silence is a hybrid experimental photographic self-portrait constructed from an original staged photographic capture that serves as the structural base of the image. From this real photographic foundation, I developed the final composition through a contemporary workflow combining artificial intelligence–assisted generation for symbolic elements such as the diamond mask, wardrobe structures, and atmospheric layers, together with advanced Photoshop compositing and detailed fine-art retouching. Each visual component was manually curated, integrated, and balanced to maintain photographic realism, coherent light behavior, and emotional continuity. This process reflects an exploration of contemporary image-making where staged photography, generative technologies, and manual fine-art intervention converge under full artistic direction to create a controlled hybrid visual language.
De la serie El tiempo de las ovas: una niña pare una tortuga marina taxidermizada desde la boca. La imagen traslada el nacimiento al plano simbólico, donde la boca —límite entre el cuerpo y la palabra— se vuelve origen de un animal silencioso. La taxidermia actúa aquí como huella suspendida de un tiempo cíclico, interrogando cómo se transmite lo ancestral en los rituales cotidianos.
Los ojos cubiertos mientras la palabra está expuesta. El contraste entre el silencio y la voz, entre la censura y la expresión. ¿Qué sucede cuando se nos impide ver pero aún se espera que hablemos?

Podemos ver la ciudad a travez de este óculo , observando con detenimiento esa geometría tan hermosa que la ciudad revela desde una perspectiva distinta. El vano arquitectónico funciona como marco visual que transforma la verticalidad urbana en una composición geometría y minimalista.
