What is Lumo?

Lumo is an experimental assistant that helps generate short comments on photos. It is not a human, but a learning system created by us to better understand images and respond to them in a natural, human-like style.

Lumo does not give ratings and does not influence contest results. It simply learns to notice strong aspects of photographs and formulate honest, respectful comments.

Why we introduced it

• to support authors with quick feedback on their work;
• to make discussions more lively even where there are few comments;
• to test how AI can assist the photography community without replacing real people.

Important to know

• Lumo may make mistakes — that’s normal, it is still learning;
• comments are generated automatically, but we constantly adjust and refine its style;
• it is not a replacement for real photographers, but a tool that grows together with the community.
