Ukrainian Refugees
The pleasant smell of mother's house was replaced by the smell of fire smoke and death. The childhood songs were replaced by thundering shells.
This is the life experience of Bogdan, Lev and Artimi - three children who managed to escape together with their parents from the inferno that is unfolding in Ukraine.
The Fettits family lived until the outbreak of the war in comfort and happiness, in a luxurious house by the sea in Muirpool. Until one bright day their lives turned completely upside down. With the outbreak of the war, the Fetits family found themselves: Alona, 37, Bogdan, 13, Lev, 4, and Artimi, the toddler, behaved like refugees. fleeing from place to place and having to survive without electricity, communication, food or even a drop of water.
Alona told me in a trembling voice about the house they left behind, which was completely shelled and today there is nothing left of it. About sweet childhood photos, naive toys, possessions and memories, and about Bogdan's trophies and medals that turned into crumbs and were buried under dusty rubble.
Relatives died around them from starvation and shelling. The stench of death became their new reality until, with the help of a man who risked his life to help them out, they were able to hastily escape the city and escape the inferno that was raging.
I chose to express the moving story of the Fetits family in a unique photo series.
