From Spain to the Moon. The new Spanish astronauts walking towards the Moon
This series is a tribute to dreams coming true, featuring Sara García and Pablo Alonso, the new Spanish astronauts who have been hired by the European Space Agency (ESA) and who will maybe have the opportunity to be part of the Artemis mission with NASA, becoming some of the next humans to walk on the moon or even Mars.
Sara has become the first female Spanish astronaut in history and will serve as a role model for generations of young girls.
In this photographic series, I wanted to capture them "walking towards the moon" as a personal tribute and support for them and Spanish science, as a celebration of what could happen in a few years' time. These photographs are 100% real, captured from distances of 100 and 300 meters, playing with perspective on the night of January 11th, 2023, with the moon at 96%, and were shared by ESA as a collaboration on their official page.
