This is a photograph from Agali, Attappadi, Kerala, India. The tribal region didn't even have continuous electricity, till it became a necessity for the children to attend online classes in the pandemic scenario, for which now solar power is provided. The children attend their online classes, satiate their hunger, and then come to the Siruvani riverside for recreation. They spend their evenings there swimming and bathing in the cold water, climbing and sunbathing on the rocks, and running around. Often the beings of the wild like the deer and the elephants who come to quench their thirst become witness to these games. Once the sun starts to set, they return to their homes with wooden pieces and logs larger than them in size, which they use at their small homes in their Ooru/village for cooking food and for light and warmth.
